From La Noscea originally, just was a scrappy little Mi'qote urchin on the streets of Limsa Lominsa who got into trouble wherever she went. Whether it's by stealing freshly caught fish as they are being unloaded onto port, knicking someone's coin purse, or harassing local Storm Officers. She was a bit well known for her antics amongst the locals. The feral U'qilau was about 8 when she was offered a salvation of sorts. A rogue found her whily knack for theft charming with potential for good. So after a few trials, he offered her shelter, a home, and a place within a secret rogue organization known as the Upright Thieves. She was trained to be tactful and cunning, with a sharp blade and an even sharper mind and wit. She was accepted and at long last, she had a family again. untraditional and unorthodox as it was, but it was hers. And for almost over a decade, U'qilau was a beloved pain in their ass.

Before the Calamity, the Upright Thieves' primary supporter and Admiral of Limsa Lominsa retired, allowing for the triumphant Admiral Merlwyb to rise to station. The uncertainty of her authority shook the foundation of Limsa Lominsa, and eventually shattered their core with the signing of the Galadion Accord, officially outlawing piracy. The Upright Thieves were soon disbanded and it's members scattered to the wind. Abandoning the orphan U'qilau.

U'qilau became quite the regular at the Golden Saucer, abusing her well-earned coin on her frivolities. And once she had been spent, she would goad potential suitors and targets of flirtation for a refill in funds.

A hired mercenary for the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, U'qilau begrudgingly was in need of coin. So when they needed someone of deft cunning and stealth, her ever flirtatious adversary recommended her for the job. In all honesty, she finds them to be a bit naive and overly optimistic. Their heroic outlook bordering on delusion.
