Background

Born into a family of wealth and nobility, Aesop was a musical and artistic prodigy, he was treated as the golden child of the household. Even though he was spoiled beyond belief, as a young child he stayed humbled and worked hard for what he wanted.

Aesop was a perfectionist and the slightly of mistakes felt like the end of the world to him. All of the pressure he had placed on himself lead him to develop a minor case of kleptomania (he usual stole useless items) and a few other unhealthy coping mechanics. Though his family was already proud of him, he never felt he was enough. Aesop overworked himself to sickness, which was an often occurrence.

He was a role model for the kids around him and a shining example for parents of what they wanted thier children to be. Over the years admiration turned to jealousy from the people he thought were his friends. The children found new ways to make his school life miserable but he seems ineffective. The moment when they found of about his kleptomania, was the moment everything changed for the worse. They framed him for stealing from classmates, to teachers, to the principal and finally, from a store on a school trip. These events marked the end of all good reputation Aesop had and his family refused to stand by him as he had ruined the Noëlle-Vaillancourt name. "The Criminal of Noëlle-Vaillancourt Household" just wouldn't do.

Ostracized both in his home and school life, Aesop lost trust in those around him and it lead him to over push away the remaining few that stood by him. Once he had graduated, his family finally disowned him.

He was fortunately taken in by an old childhood friend but it was not enough to stop him from turning to a life of crime out of spite, hurt and bitterness. To this day he is known as the Phatom of the Night.
