Always fine with they/them, but also uses other pronouns when they feel like it. Possibly changes a colored ribbon hanged on tail or smth, one that indicates the Pronoun Of The Day tm?

They'd be a calico cat with 2 tails, asymmetrical patterns with stripes, white base with gray-orange-red-black markings. Pretty much always seen with a comically huge backpack and lots of masks, trinkets, necklaces, jars full of fae, lanterns hanging off it.

Used to be an unlucky black cat who grew up in a small village. Tragically died young 💔 but their body was found by a powerful fae/demigod, who gave them an offer: get power and nine lives for working for them, or pass on to the afterlife. Scared of death, the cat accepted.

No longer a black cat and sprouting additional tails (which is why, alongside their powers and trickster personality, i'd call them a cat-kitsune; a catsune) (usually shows two tails for aesthetics and also since two long tails are handy but three are too much. Gets offended when called a bakeneko), they started travelling around the world.

In order to keep their nine lives, they have to trick others just like a fae. Selling cursed masks that make you change into a different species and locking you out of your original body, jars that trap your soul, name-stealers, unlucky charms and so on. They're not thrilled about their condition but the fear of dying for real is stronger.

Over the years they mastered the art of crafting and imbuing items with magic, letting them make things both with negative and positive effects. Their best work is definitely their own masks: you see, for each extra tail they have, they have a mask of another (often mythical) creature. When they wear a mask, they shapeshift into said creature, so a dragon mask turna them into a dragon, although they do not have an actual face underneath the mask (it has to stay on at all times).

They lost a few lives, so they have less than 9 maximum tails / shapeshifting masks.

Also their real, original name has been stolen by the fae so they prolly have some strange name :bonk: and trust issues. Wording is everything with fae, so they won't give you their name, they can tell you it. Very supersticious
