Profile
General
Canaro is a guy that's just looking to get by with his life. He works as a weaponsmith, being able to create run-of-the-mill weaponry as well as special weapons that are powered by magic energy. He is a tech fanatic, with his main hobby being tinkering with various devices and making his own thing out of it.
Personality-wise, he's a shy person that has anxiety, insomnia, and past trauma that often weighs him down. He has trouble trying to make friends due to his awkwardness in social situations, but tries to maintain the relationships he does have the best he can.
Fighting Style
Canaro is skilled with fighting with a variety of weapons. His preference is a magic-powered shotgun of his design or a hammer that he carries around as a back-up melee weapon, but he is capable of using other weapons such as swords, bows, or other handheld guns. Staves are an option as well as a casting aid for magic.
He is also knowledgeable with magic, being able to wield his own to an extent, but isn't the best at outputting spells out of inexperience. His main capabilities in magic are with fire and light-based magic, and rarely casts spells unless for utility or he's otherwise disarmed.
The Troubled One
His home life had a very negative impact on how he grew up. Growing up in a house of favoritism, he was overshadowed by his older brother's talent with magic, not receiving as much attention from his parents. He initially had a close relationship with his sister, until she began bullying him. It came to a head when she outed him for his homosexuality to his crush, with additional lies to make Canaro seem undesirable. This spiraled into a confrontation that ends with Canaro hitting a low point from a sudden burst in negative attention, causing him to run away from home.
Canaro eventually settles in a city far away, where he finds a footing after getting involved in a few different jobs, and having some support along the way. He reunites with his brother Etzel later on, who is initially keen on dragging him back home, but eventually decides to help him out and live together with him. Over time, the two finally start to understand each other, and continue to live together in the present. Canaro also regains contact with an old childhood friend once his brother starts living with him, being able to catch up and spend time with each other once more.
Very recently, Canaro decided to experiment with his identity, going by they/them alongside of he/him. Hoping to avoid what happened the last time they told the wrong person about a part of his identity, they've been careful to only tell those closest to him, or experiment online where they can be anonymous. Otherwise, this part of him remains closeted to the wider world.
Quirks
Canaro's anxiety and overall shyness keeps him on edge when interacting with strangers and steers him away from public outings. It takes him a long time to warm up to people. If he's overwhelmed, he can be prone to panic attacks.
His outlook on things is quite negative if something isn't in his favor, and he doesn't hesitate to put himself down. His friends can help snap him out of it.
