Appearance:

Ellis is a Halfling, therefore, she’s pretty small. He’s only 2 feet and 10 inches tall. Ellis has hazel eyes, autumn red hair, reaches to hallway her back. Several hair spring up, eventhough she takes care of it. It seems like that’s partly because of her active lifestyle. Part of her face and chest is covered in freckles. Her clothes seem to be a mishmash of things she has found from the places she has been to. She wears a green short sleeved shirt, with under it a white long sleeved one. She also wears light beige trousers, and dark grey boots. The rest of her attire is mostly focused on living outdoors. She wears brown gloves, several belts and also has visible knee and elbow protectors. She finishes it up with a cape, with a part that could cover her mouth.

Personality:

Ellis is active, quick-witted and most of all caring. She has a tendency to create an extreme liking to the most mundane things, making her cling on to anything that she can project her feelings on. This could be a person, but also things. She often takes trinkets with her and assigns emotional value to it. She does use her head though, and knows others would find this behaviour silly, so she keeps most of it secret to others.

The halfling isn’t afraid to speak up when she thinks things are unreasonable. She stands for justice, however she also stands for logic. Sometimes there are rules that need to be broken in order to save people, or to survive in general. Ellis can take up a role as leader, but is more than happy to follow one as well, not having to deal with the responsibilities of being one. She has a knack for motivating people. Even though she like a good discussion, Ellis prefers to be surrounded with positivism and happy thoughts, and tries to actively push away bad feelings whenever she gets in tough situations.

While on the inside she may seem a bit childish with her quirks, on the outside she comes over as a confident person. She is easy to talk to, and she likes to listen to other people and their story. She likes to crack jokes, but she also wants to seriously share her feelings from time to time. Life has been tough on Ellis, so she knows how awful it can be to get no support, being all alone. She tries to make sure others don’t go through such a phase.

History:

Ellis grew up with two lovely parents who were circus performers in 'The Halfling circus'. This circus had the weird tradition to leave their children behind every ten years, once a child was old enough. Old enough being 12 years old.
Ellis was 14 years old when she got sent off by her parents, together with a small group of other halfling children. The group called themselves 'The Halfling Band', seeing as they were all halflings. They earned their money by performing on the street. To be entirely accurate, they earned a quarter of their money with that. The other three quarters were earned by stealing people's possessions. They were quite good at that. They all had quick fingers and felt no real regrets when stealing. Ellis wasn’t a fan of it, but knew she wouldn’t be able to make it on her own, so accepted her fate as a petty pickpocket. There was a kid two years younger than her that shared her disdain for stealing, Norrin Billion, who actively tried to speak up about it. Ellis saw him as her friend, so did he, but she never actively supported him while the others were around, afraid that she would be left behind. Differently from Norrin, Ellis wasn’t a great wonder pickpocket, so she would imagine they’d like her way less hanging around than Norrin.

Her friendship with Norrin was something that dragged her through the days. Even though she always had to carry the guilt of being a pickpocket, Norrin always managed to cheer her up. Three years went by without any major problems. Obviously she sometimes had law enforcement almost getting their hands on her, but she had always managed to escape. After those three years however, from one day to another, Norrin had left the group. One night he had sneaked off, never to return again. Ellis asked the Halfling Band to wait for him, but they didn’t want to, and eventually she followed the rest to the next city. After a few weeks, she felt like she wasn’t achieving anything with her life, missing the only positive drive in her life, she ran away from the group as well, starting her own career as performer.

She wasn’t great at it however, and quickly came to realize she wouldn’t be able to get enough coins to survive. So instead she opted to something that had always piqued her interest: hunting. Her parents left her with a bow and arrow, seeing as that was their own act, and it seemed like Ellis shared her parents’ talent. She became a ranger and managed to survive easily this way, being able to sell all kinds of products from the wilderness. She partially felt bad for killing that many harmless animals, but at least she was able to survive. Her fondness of animals eventually got the best of her, especially when there was a circus at the city she was visiting. It seemed like they needed someone to take care of the animals, so that’s what she did. Now her job is to make sure the animals are feeling good, which in some way, is just as rewarding as being a ranger. However maybe that life isn’t over, as many things can happen in an uncertain future…
