He was found as a puppy by a man who was wandering around with his sword and since then Kouhei was following him everywhere.
Kouhei himself does not know who his parents are or if they are still alive, but he know that he doesn't look like a normal dog.
The man with the sword did not care and always said that he can see, that he has a good heart and that this is the only thing that counts.
He fought together with his human partner to protect the weak.
He wanted to be like his partner so much, that he gained a humanoid form himself.
So he was able to hold a sword and fight like this man.
Soon the man died in a fight, but he seemed not sad.
With his last breath he told Kouhei that he was happy to leave this world knowing that his soul, his heart and everything he thaught him will live in Kouhei's memories.
Kouhei took his sword and since then he always has it with him.
He only uses his own sword though.
A long time he did not knew what to do now, grieving every day at his partners grave.
But someday he heard a scream and went to help without thinking.
Since then he decided to go traveling around, like he did with this man, helping the weak.
He mostly uses his humanoid form, to honor his partner. (Also it's a bit easier to approach villages, even if he's not always welcome because of his looks)
He remains calm and helpful.
One day he finds a very weak puppy, too.
It also looks different from the other dogs.
"Was this the same sight when he found me?", he was asking himself quietly, before he tries to help.
After helping that little Dog, she wouldn't want to let go of him, so after a lot of time he decided to take her with him.
He would thaught her the same things as his Partner once did and so he became kind of a adoptive father.
