Mahiru

Mahiru is the youngest child of a royal family that has been at war for years against another royal family. Despite being the youngest of 10 children she was closest with her three older siblings and one of the middle children. Neither side can really be considered better then the other. Mahiru's family is very politically savy. They rule with an iron fist with laws, survalence, and secrets, keeping many of their functions out of the public eye. The rival family was brutal, going by the strongest. Their form of fear comes from public examples of criminals, brutal punishments, and unwavering physical force. Eventually they decided to end the war by doing a trade. Each side will give the other their youngest child to be taken care of. Mahiru was kept in a cell, with the family not caring to take good care of her, feeding her almost randomly and occasionally not getting her necessities. During this time the second youngest son of the family met and started to talk with Mahiru to learn about her family. They became closer and he started to take care of her more. Eventually they became close friends, not really having many connections with the rival family and are planning an escape
