Zeke grew up feeling isolated from others because of his lack of eyesight. This brought on a lot of insecurities within him, but he won't let anyone know that. On the outside, he seems aloof, uncaring of what other people think of him. But deep down, he's a worrywart who can't express his emotions well. He takes pride at being able to hide his emotions and confusing others about what he's thinking, but his actions tend to contradict this hard image. He's a very gentle soul who has a lot of love to give, but is afraid of how it'll be recieved.
Zeke can be rather witty! He's usually a very deadpan personality, so you wouldn't expect him to make clever jokes. He's not above childish jokes, though, and can and will crack a duty joke if he knows it'll get a laugh. He likes to hear people express joy, so a lot of his actions are motivated to hear people be happy (especially Orion, who has very jovial reactions).
BACKSTORY
I don't have too much backstory on Zeke other than he grew up in his family's owned resort near a coast somewhere. As a child, he used to feel isolated due to his eyesight (or lack, thereof). However, as he's grown up, he's come to terms with disability and doesn't think too much of it anymore.
Zeke met Orion by (literally) getting run over by the merman (who had just obtained a set of legs). Torn by leaving someone as helpess as Orion by himself, Zeke decided to let him stay the night at his family's inn. A night turned into a week, which turned into staying permanently (and helping out) on Orions end. The two get along surprisingly well, their relationship later blooming into a goofy romance.
Zeke realized Orion wasn't human a little later and has to scramble to hide the fact from his (nosy) family. Little does he know that Orion can't keep his mouth shut or keep his tail hidden, so majority of his family and guests of the inn already knows (but don't tell Zeke that!)
RELATIONS
Zeke and Orion are dating! They're a goofy couple who don't know much about love and are generally navigating through it without much experience. Zeke wouldn't have it any other way though, because he's 99% sure Orion is the love of his life. I generally draw these two being goofy and stupidly in love, but if you'd like to interpret their relationship further, please feel free to! Just keep it SFW!
DESIGN
- has some distict moles on his face, but his body is fair game
- keeps his eyes closed most of the time, but will open them occasionally (usually around orion)
- very lanky, but has wide shoulders (built like a dorito)
- dresses comfy but atrociously. usually has unnecessary layers or questionable patterns that make absolutely no sense
