Having both his wits about him and his sea legs, Bowman is no stranger to the open waters.

He takes himself very seriously as a sailor. Despite many doubting him based on appearance alone he has survived through many rocky storms while being a crew of just one. He accepts the risks of manning a vessel all by himself, he genuinely just prefers to be alone when appreciating the seas. Though he oftentimes has some of the worst luck one could imagine be it getting stranded on deserted islands or getting bullied by his fellow sailors.

Bowman grew up in a small seaside town, one often the point of travel for many ships and pirates. His love of the sea and interests in traveling made him more than eager to set out on his own, although the attitudes of the other sailors he often met were much too crude for his tastes making it hard to find a crew of his own. Finally giving in and using his money to buy a small ship of his own (insert name when i think of one) he was more than eager to set out and hopefully find some more likeminded mariners.

Bowman comes off as short tempered and gruff to most but he just needs someone with a similar appreciation to his craft to soften his heart. 

He truly believes in respecting the cultures and wildlife of wherever he goes and can’t stand those who are in it for treasure and infamy.
