Qingshan Liu, or just Liu is a college dropout that keeps romanticizing his high school days a little too much. His parents sent him to a family friend’s Chinese restaurant in a rural town off the coast of Wales to ‘discipline’ him, but he’s enjoying the freedom there a lot more than his home back in London. He won’t do favors for others unless it’s in his own self-interest, and has lots of street fighting experience up his sleeve so it’s best not to get on his bad side. He prefers being called by his last name Liu since too many people butcher his given name. If he isn’t at the restaurant or at home, he’s probably riding his motorcycle around and hanging out at the beach.
Appearance
Liu is a young Chinese man with pale skin, black hair, and somehow neon pink eyes. He usually wears his restaurant uniform under a bright red flashy jacket with black fur collar. He has other clothes, but since he spends so much time at the restaurant working as either a waiter or a delivery boy, if he's out of his uniform he's probably at home. Sometimes when he heads to the beach straight from work he'll still be wearing his work outfit, but if it's just a random morning he might be wearing something else. He really likes his jacket though, so he's rarely seen without it, even though it's not really motorcycle gear...
- His jacket has a Chinese dragon design on it. The dragon is not optional if you are drawing the jacket
- Alternatively, he can be drawn with his black uniform underneath and with a white apron if he's working
- He's usually glaring, deadpanning, or doing a sly grin if he's thinking of something sneaky
- Liu is relatively lean / skinny and doesn't eat large portions, but eats small portions slowly
- He doesn't exercise much other than walking at most, so he isn't muscular
- He doesn't have to be drawn with a knife
Personality
To put it most simply, Qingshan Liu is just an edgy bastard that cares only about his self-interests over anything else. If he's kind to you, he probably is doing it because he sees some usefulness in being kind, and as a result any kindness shown to him is met with skepticism.
Trivia
- He hates anyone who tries to drink and drive, no matter how little they’ve drank.
- People who are too overly kind angers him, since he feels a mix of guilt and annoyance in the sense of feeling like they want something out of him which is why they’re being nice to him. He especially despises people who tries to sympathise with him since it feels fake to him.
- Ironically, he prefers upfront hate rather than upfront kindness.
- Liu greatly enjoys going on motorcycle rides alone whenever he feels stressed or when a lot is weighing on his mind, which happens to be often.
- If not out on his motorcycle or working, he enjoys just relaxing at ‘Aunt Zhou’s’ house.

Skills & Abilities
History
Growing up in an urban area near a rougher Chinatown district in London, Liu’s high school days were filled with fights that he just barely avoided getting expelled for. He’d often skip classes after getting ahead in his work and get into trouble with his close knit group of friends. Since he knew his parents would give him hell if he let his grades slip up too much, he still did well enough to get mostly Bs and a few As here and there in easy classes. Liu got into a no-name college after high school and went there for a year to please his parents before dropping out since he wasn’t applying himself enough or taking it seriously. His friends mostly all went into the workforce, but he didn’t feel close to any of them anymore and had a hard time studying in college with people he viewed as too ‘uptight’.
After his parents found out he dropped out, they were furious to say the least. Wanting him to ‘reflect on himself’, they insisted on him getting a job temporarily and continuing college later. They contacted a family friend (a woman named Huiling Zhou) who owned a small Chinese restaurant on a fishing island called Oceanum off of the coast of Wales and sent him there to work for her. Without that much experience, he mostly just works as a waiter and delivery boy.
To any of Liu’s acquaintances in Oceanum, he’s just a college dropout who was forced to work as a waiter / delivery boy for a woman’s Chinese family restaurant that makes a lot of Chinese style seafood dishes with all the fish from the area. It seems like his relationship with his parents isn’t that good, but he holds some level of the bare-minimum respect for his elders. He complies in the restaurant, but rarely anywhere else. He lives with the woman who owns the restaurant.
However, something he doesn't share is that Liu also used to have a younger sister named Meilin but when she was 11 and he was 14 she died in a car accident when a drunk driver hit their car. His parents and himself survived only because the car hit the side where Meilin was sitting. The event scarred him and he couldn’t cope with her death that well. He got into fights and did worse in school to distract himself. He likes going to the beach in Oceanum since it's furthest away from any cars and roads, and also why he appreciates the freedom of having a motorcycle over a car always. He also avoids drinking because of this.
