Lily is a mellow but cheerful individual with a very open mind. This leads her to be extraordinarily adventurous in every aspect of her life from food, to people, to experiences — though she does her best to keep her wits about her. She's all or nothing; either she want to do 1,000 things, or do nothing and lay in the sun all day. Being far from her birthplace with strange new things and new people is wonderful and liberating to her, so she tries to soak up all the sights, smells, and stories of the places she visits.

B A C K S T O R Y

Lily was born to parents who were servants to a powerful archmage. They were working as procurers of dangerous magical components in order to pay off a debt to the archmage for when they attempted to steal from her. One night, in a fit of magical frenzy, the mage accidentally set fire to a tower in the workshop. The tower fell, and on the same night, Lily was born. Her birth name was First Blossom from the Ashes.

Ashes grew up in servitude with her parents. When she was old enough to work, she was set to filling jars and gathering herbs. She constantly felt torn, since she was curious about magic but knew she would be punished if she were caught snooping. That didn't stop her for too long, though.

When Ashes was 9 years old, in another fit of the archmage's madness, the rebuilt tower caught fire once more from a huge strike of magical lightning. It threatened to burn down the entire laboratory, and the forest around it began to catch fire. Ashes' parents told her to run, to use this chaos as an escape from her parents' debt, and she did. Running as fast as she could into the burning forest, she eventually collapsed.

She awoke in the care of the elven druid Finawae, who made their home deep in the same forest. Having seen the enormous wildfire, they knew immediately that Ashes would be a child whose destiny was entwined with fire. They raised Ashes under druidic practices, where she found a love of nature, animals, and was finalyl able to practice magic.

As a child Ashes often strayed away from Finawae's sanctum. She once nearly poisoned herself with the deadly flower lily of the valley. This event would eventually lead to Ashes taking the plant's name for her own as an alias, and craft a false identity to present to the public to avoid being brought back into service of the archmage.

When Ashes — now going by Lily of the Valley — began proper druidic training, she had trouble following the techniques of the Circle of the Shepherd that Finawae was a part of. She dreamed often of fire consuming nature, which troubled her deeply, and when she told Finawae this they opted to put her on a different path: the Circle of Wildfire.

The powerful creation and destruction magic of the Circle of Wildfire was beyond Finawae's knowledge, however. With Lily coming of age and growing increasingly restless to see the world outside of the forest and find her parents once more, Finawae allowed her to leave the sanctum and travel the world to find other people like herself. They hoped that the wildfire spirit she now kept with her would safely guide Lily to knowledge and wisdom to help her embrace her inner magical fire.
