Nathaniel Thomas DeSa, born March 31st 1995. Twin brother of Laura DeSa.
The unfortunate children of a loveless relationship, Nate and Laura were given up by their mother, Cindy, who had been abandoned by their father, Miguel, at the hospital on the day of their birth. Due to Miguel's manipulative nature, their "vacation destination" had merely turned into a dumping ground to leave his girlfriend and children at while he ran away to move on with his life without "baggage". Miles away from her own family in Corner Stone and unable to bear her own shame, Cindy, in desperation to find a home for the twins, she left them on the doorstep of the Island God of Mura Muna before disappearing into the night.
Only a day and a half old, Nate and Laura were adopted by Kazuko and Muramaku, who took them in as their own children.
Kazuko's connections as an author allowed her to get in touch with the twins' maternal birth family, the DeSa family, as the twins' grandfather George DeSa was a fellow author and advocate for assisting Blessed folk with their abilities. On the family's wishes, the twins kept their birth last name, but remained with the couple as their son and daughter.
Nate is an emotional boy. Being given up by his birth parents makes him strive to be as "good as possible" to avoid ever being abandoned again. In this effort, he tried tirelessly to find out what made him "special", hoping to find a talent or Blessing that would make it so others could be proud of him. The Deities found this funny, and thus gave him his Blessing via Divine Incident, electrocuting him in the middle of a thunderstorm. Unconscious for days, his eyes and back scarred from the electricity, Nate is now an electrokinetic with a fear of thunder.
Originally wanting to be a hero or a person of note, he now just strives to live a happy life. He likes to play baseball, and it's honestly one of the only things he genuinely excels in, aside from retaining tons of knowledge of god history and mythology. Otherwise spends his time with his best friend, Kam, and his "stupid" sister, Laura, usually creating small doses of mischief and chaos around Centa City, Mura Muna.
He's currently at the age where he's easily embarrassed by his parents, which is ironic considering he starts ridiculous shit in public just as often as they do. But that's just how teenagers are, I suppose. He also has a bad habit of mindlessly swearing, which gets him in trouble very often.
As of the canon "now", Nate and Laura are both wholly unaware of their parents' histories and live "normal" lives at the absolute insistence of their mother.
