Grayson is a gentle giant wrapped in a shell of tough glares and anxiety. He is no stranger to the gory details of life, after growing up on the less savory side of Mexico with his mother who, in her own mind, was a crime lord who ran a section of the town. Grayson has learned the hard way how to choke down his emotions and hide them behind a wall of distrust and uncertainty, and because of this he can be a very difficult person to get close to, as he tends to shut people out by default when meeting someone new.
He suffers from a rather wide range of issues, both physical and mental, the most noteworthy being a shotgun wound in his midsection that nearly claimed his life when he was a teen, though the wound is long healed, he still suffers the effects of having much of his internals pieced back together. The traumatic things that have happened throughout Grayson's formative years have left him with PTSD, and he also suffers from depression. But for all the messy parts of his life, it's not all grim, and there actually is a light at the end of the tunnel.
When Grayson was 18, he moved out of the cramped apartment he shared with his mother to Chicago to begin schooling and to seek treatment for the as of then undiagnosed issues, under the care of his older half sister, he managed to pursue a career in the culinary arts, and after completing his university run, moved to Las Vegas where he took up residence with a man he met through a roommate ad. He currently makes a living running his own professional bakery, and lives in a large home with his partner, his roommate, and another close friend.
For all the bad that has happened in his life, and for all the aloof distrust that he often gives off to people not in his circle, Grayson is an incredibly loyal and dedicated person. He is humble to a fault and often needs to be reminded and reassured by those around him that he's not garbage like he thinks he is. He's a loving and affectionate person who can be surprisingly hands on and touchy feely when it comes to his significant other, and despite some of the less savory parts of him, he is a genuinely good person, even if he can't see it.
