- Chapter 1: Upbringing
- He was an orphan born with a curse.
- Village avoided him like a plague.
- Grew up neglected and abused.
- Always strived for villagers’ acceptance, but later on the thought went away.
- Emotionally and physically abused, he learned how to cope by remaining unresponsive.
- Chapter 2: Unearth
- During his teen age, he discovered the story of his parents and the origin of his “curse”
- They have made a contract with a powerful individual who was known as the Devil.
- His parents promised to do the Devil dirty deeds in exchange of protecting the village, who had suffered many raids and non-stop disasters.
- If they failed, they agreed to give up their souls to the Devil.
- They died midway through their bidding, and their souls were collected by their apponent instead.
- Lost their part of the contact, and unable to harvest their souls, the Devil put a curse on their child.
- The curse binded him to the same contract, but instead of his soul it was the souls of the village.
- The villagers tried to reason with the Devil, whether through negotiation or force, but they all failed.
- Chapter 3: Forgiveness
- He understood their treatment towards him, even though part of him didn’t want to forgive them. He was willing to protect the village from the ugly fate.
- It took a bit of time for the villagers to give him a chance.
- He proved his intention, they opened up to him more. They welcomed him to their homes and provided training for him in preparation for his journey.
- Chapter 4: Confrontation
- He has now become the hope of his village, just like his parents once were.
- He left his home and went to meet the Devil.
- Took him about a year to travel to the Devil’s whereabouts.
- Talked to the Devil, and hatched up new conditions to the current contract.
- Not only will the village be protected, the Devil will bring back the souls they stole from when the villagers fought them as well as his parents’.
- Took a bit of persuasion but the Devil agreed, for that they planted a curse on his mask in exchange.
- The mask became blighted, which causes his patched area to be weaker and harder to regrow.
- So now he is doing his part of the contract, killing other entities that had wronged the Devil.
