Graip is a dragon-naga hybrid, for the most part. For whatever reason, when he's around 4 years old, his parents have to hide him from dragon slayers. It's revealed these aren't dragon slayers, but simply a husband and his barren wife stressing over how they're going to have a child, they stumble upon Mihai, believing him to be a lost child, they decide to take him, at least until his real parents find him. After two months, they concluded that his parents must have been killed, so they decide to adopt him. He's raised into a fairly good home for the most part, he can't complain, until he feels a certain "ping." He can't describe what this feeling is, but feels the need to follow it. So he decides he has to leave, at least so he can figure out what thing feeling is. Over time he realizes that the "ping" was a connection to other hybrids, almost as if they share one soul, like they were supposed to be a kind of hydra. As he learns who these people are, he begins to learn the truth about himself and, especially, the truth about his parents, and it leads to a conundrum, does he take the news poorly because he was ripped from his real parents arms, or does he take it lightly because he knew his surrogate parents were mistaken? This then boils to an over arching plot of the other hybrids, does he kill them in hopes to stop the ping he feels, knowing they might try the same thing, or does he accept that he's a fragment of something bigger, but not pursue it?
