Doyel, a minor demon, had escaped what he referred to as a horrible prison into the real world.
His goal was immediately to find a host, as without someone summoning him, the parasitic demon could not survive for long without a soul to leech off of. Unfortunately for a local mime, Mortimer, the creature quickly latched on to keep itself alive. Oddly enough, instead of having the affect Doyel expected, the mime survived his attempt to take over his body and-- their souls, awkwardly, fused.
Unable to separate due to the danger of killing them both, Doyel unfortunately had to learn to share and work with Mortimer. It was not an easy feat for either of them in the beginning, but now a days they get along...fairly well. If the minor demon would cease tormenting the mime, that is.
Mortimer just wants a normal life, Doyel just wants to bother and gain more souls to feed off of. They're working on it.
Due to the crimes Doyel wishes to commit, and Mortimer's shame of his lost voice and life, Mortimer cut off his job, his side gig, and his friends (and bandmates), He hides away from them best he can while still living in the same city. He's too afraid and ashamed of what could happen. As far as he knows, everyone assumes him for dead.

- Doyel enjoys fixing go karts, but often needs Mortimer's help. Luckily, the mime doesn't mind.
- Mortimer loves cats and insects. Doyel not so much. All of media in their home pertaining to these creatures annoys him greatly.
- Mortimer is more charismatic than Doyel, being much nicer than the demon. Doyel, on the other hand (Hah!) is a great thief and liar and often gets them into and out of trouble.
- Doyel is often bored and mostly wishes to go out and do things. (Mostly harassing others or petty thievery), While Mortimer is more comfortable at home crafting or other such things.
- Mortimer became mute when his soul fused with Doyel. (His voice used to sound like this)
- Mortimer was a mime as a side gig to earn money alongside his normal job, he really wanted to be a singer in life, but well...Now his make up is more of a reflection of a life he lost to himself. He doesn't do much anymore except for travel.
