She/Her

She could be compared to a fallen deity. She is the embodiment of light, her body inhabiting the spirit of the forest, hiding deep in a crystalline cave. Every so often, she goes into deep hibernation to provide the surrounding forest with nutrients. She is a peaceful entity, however because of her life-giving nature, spirits of dark and pollution seek her out to steal her magic for themselves. Iris would never inflict harm on others, so over the millennia the creatures of the forest have banded together to keep her safe. One of these is the mushroom nymph, Ophelia. Ophelia formed the mushroom guard, tasked with protecting the forest ‘queen’’s life. The two creatures have formed a very deep and personal relationship. 

Iris can seem inhuman at times as she is often hibernating and rarely expresses her feelings as the emotionless will of the forest takes over. She hates being just a ‘thing’, no more than a necessary conduit for the forest.
