~Backstory~

Ophelia's life started at an orphanage that was located close to a forest since she was a baby, it is unknown to this day who her biological parents are and if they died or simply abandoned her there. In the orphanage, years passed and she would not get adopted, and it always saddened her, to the point she simply thought she wasn't wanted and started to lose hope. Not only that but she would get bullied in the orphanage, and even some of the nuns in charge there would not treat her so kindly, except for one who wasn't really part of the orphanage but would go visit on Fridays. Ophelia always looked forward to seeing that specific and kind nun, since she was the only one that treated her well and actually cared for her, but sadly she couldn't adopt her.

Ophelia was always a smart girl and for the others kids, they found it odd and weird, hence why they bullied her. One of her hobbies was play with her little rag doll the kind nun had given her on day and ropes, she liked tying different knots. But in her play time, that was when the bullying was always happening. At age 6 in winter, one of the kids took Ophelia's rag doll, she treasures it so of course she got desperate and scared. The kid broke part of the rag doll and even told her she would be better off dead. This was her breaking point... 

That cold winter night, she took some rope and what was left of the broken rag doll that was so dear to her, and ran from the orphanage and into the forest. Once the orphanage was no longer in her line of vision, she broke down and started crying while holding tightly her broken rag doll and rope. She noticed the tree next to her, and decided to drop the broken rag doll and climb the tree with the rope in her arm so it doesn't fall. It took her some time, and the cold winter air wasn't making it easier, but she managed to get to the first sturdy tree branch and sat on it. She started "playing" with the rope and started tying it to the tree branch. Once done and making sure it was tied tightly, she took the other end and wrapped it around her neck. With one last look at the broken rag doll on the ground, she softly whispered "I'm sorry...", closed her eyes and jumped down, ending her very young life... 

The nuns in charge of the orphanage noticed Ophelia's absence a day after she left, but did not care for her disappearance, they simply ignored it. That is until the kind nun came in on that Friday, asking where Ophelia was. They simply told her that she probably ran away to commit suicide and "perish in hell with the rest of the other kids that took their lives", since it was not uncommon for some kids to run away so they could commit suicide. This got the kind nun furious and heart broken, she did not want to believe Ophelia had run away to take away her life. She cared deeply for Ophelia, almost like she was her daughter. She would reassure her that a family was going to adopt her soon and that she was not alone. She can't adopt her but that didn't stop her from trying to find a kind family that could take her in, but she was too late. She swore she was not going to come back to the orphanage and that she will get the authorities involved. She refused to believe Ophelia was gone and dead, but after a year she had come to terms that she was indeed dead after she heard authorities found a little girl's body in the forest.

Little did she know, that was not Ophelia's body...

On the second night of Ophelia's death, a witch in her 30's was walking at night in the forest and stumbled upon Ophelia's hanging body from a tree, her skin already turning blue due to the winter cold. She noticed the broken rag doll on the floor and picked it up. She knew some innocent kids who were having a rough life, would come here to end their life, or end up dying due to getting lost, but she had never stumbled upon a body. She decided to take Ophelia's body and take her home. With her magic, she managed to bring her back to life but not without making her some pigtails that have a mind of their own, but they are there to keep Ophelia protected.

This witch had given this young girl a second chance in life and at first, Ophelia was scared, especially since she thought the witch was going to hurt her and freaked out over her pigtails moving but after some time and patience, she now sees the witch as a mother figure, and she sees Ophelia as her daughter figure. After a year of being home schooled by the witch, she enrolls her in a school. Ophelia is still a child, she still needs education and not be closed in the house all day. She was hesitant but the with reassured her that nothing bad will happen, and if someone tried to hurt her or bully her, they will have to deal with her monster pigtails and the witch's curses.

Her new life begins here after a year...
