A young boy who came from a once noble scholar family in a remote part of Japan.

Unfortunately years ago said family fell to an illness though it was believed they were cursed by a supernatural being. As Kazuo was barely seen outside no one knew anything about him and sightings on him, as well as the greedy survivors of his clan, believed he was a Keukegen, a disease spirit who brings sickness and bad health to those whom they live near.

Without a place to stay he soon became a homeless food thief who, despite his scholar background, had to resolve to petty stealing to survive. Even the rest of his clan who for a short while wallowed in the leftovers of their glory died some time later, fully ending the families history altogether.

He was at some point picked up by Genèse and is raised by his pack.
