Toby Hartley

Toby is a gardener with a bad temper who lives by himself in a secluded house on the outskirts of a forest. He has a rivalry with the deer he thinks are eating his garden. He soon discovers they aren't ordinary deer, and then they kidnap him which really pisses Toby off.

He is often described as grumpy and prickly. He thinks most people aren't worth forming connections with, and finds the hurdles that people have to jump through in polite conversation pointless. One exception to this rule is his older sister, Heidi. 

Has an occasional smoking habit, but makes sure to smoke away from plants—mostly smokes in his basement.

Sympathizes with Poison Ivy from DC Comics.
