Mori (japanese): forest, a large area covered with trees and undergrowth.
Memento Mori (latin): a phrase meaning "remember death" or "remember that you will die"
About: Memento (or Mori) is a guardian forest spirit of forgotten things. From small keepsakes, to trails, parks, or shrines; if it was once loved and then abandoned, this spirit sees to it's care. Dragons horde treasure, and for Mori these forgotten places and lost trinkets make a horde worth protecting. Unlike most dragons, this gentle spirit prefers to return these treasures than keep them. Mori is rather particular, however, and only returns what they feel is loved and missed adequately. You might be denied what you've lost if you're unappreciative. Leaving offerings at abandoned shrines or cleaning up a neglected trail is the best way to get in this spirit's good graces.
Personality: Shy, calm, optimistic, and curious. Mori may be initially distrustful but is ultimately optimistic about others. If you prove yourself polite and kind, Mori will be very affectionate and warm towards you. You may even become inundated with long lost trinkets, or suddenly able to find your way through twisting woods flawlessly; likely Mori's way of saying "thank you". If you are rude and disrespectful to Mori or their "treasures", they will react not with anger but with sadness, and lurk away. Things you lost arn't likely to return to you. Mori thinks the things you lost are better off with them, now.

✦ Despite being surrounded by a somewhat somber subject matter, Memento is cheerful and optimistic.
✦ Memento guards over lost "things", like objects and places. Living things are not really under their jurisdiction, but the bones of those loved-and-lost do fall under their care.
✦ It is unclear where the skull and bones from, but it is clearly very precious to them... Perhaps those bones were Mori's first memento from a long lost friend.
✦ Smells like an old forest and incense.
