☰ BACKSTORY ☰

Growing up in rural Krimdon amongst a family of inventors, all his life he’d dreamed about going to Novus. During high-school he entered a promising inventing competition to try and win a prize tour around the city which - unsurprisingly - he won with his eye-visor design, instilling him with more faith over his technical abilities. The tour was finally his and he’d get to see his invention developed en-masse. During the tour of Novus, a band of Doloriak doctors made his blueprints a reality… on his face, painfully fusing a visor over his eyes and locking them away beneath primitive trial technology forever. Waking up scared and alone within a megacity he barely knew, Ali went into hiding in the Shadow District and became the apprentice of Terry Wheeler, a Shadower engineer who took him under his wing. In his later teens he began to make a living off of freelance work, coding advanced hacking programs and contriving brand new weaponry (such as Cassian’s gun and Karalee’s sabre) to be used by rebels against the Doloriak as well as creating his own visor enhancements to aid his vision, even installing a browser within his mind. The memory wipe at the time of his kidnapping means he’s forgotten all about his life before; he knows only that he has to get revenge and hold whoever did this to him and his peers responsible. And thus, The Citizens Initiative was born.

☰ PERSONALITY ☰
Ali is a confident and driven individual who doesn’t let his situation get the better of him. His inability to recall his past means his previous emotional attachments don’t interfere with his workflow, but he does care deeply for his peers, even if his methods are often unconventional and misguided. He’s a careful planner who places great emphasis on being the better person and allowing pacifism to prevail. All his weapons are non-lethal.
☰ FAULTS ☰
Often overlooks the feelings of others in pursuit of a plan, even though the plans concern their wellbeing. He’s prone to cockiness, it’s often his way or the highway. If a plan deviates he’ll pull teeth to get it back on track. He’s cooler than a cucumber (when he’s not tired) but is rubbish at sentimental advice. He can’t fight efficiently due to his blindness and relies on automated weaponry and systems.
☰ DESIRES ☰

Once all is done, Ali wouldn’t mind settling down with someone. He’s repeatedly told he has a proficiency for attracting “mad women”, perhaps they could be the ying to his yang? He would love for The Citizens Initiative to continue when all is done, but realises he might have a hard time convincing the others to keep going. He also loves a sexy bit of technology.

☰ QUIRKS/HABITS ☰
General American-isms, think New York. Smirks to his left, fidgets with tools all the time. Nobody’s ever sure exactly who he’s looking at. Prone to techno-babble which needs translating.
☰ TRIVIA ☰
- Team Role: “Citizen One: The Strategist”, with the least formal combat training under his belt Ali took it upon himself to beef up a little, but muscle doth not make a good fighter. He likes to stick to the sidelines giving the commands and swinging his frisbees about, which proves helpful enough. If he ever does get into a tussle, he can hold out for long enough to get away.

- Ali (pronounced A-lee as opposed to Ahh-lee) is a reasonably traditional Zeradian name which simply means 'joy.' He sometimes wishes his life reflected that name a little more.

- Ali's visor is a complex structure, the outer shell of it is contrived of thick but flexible white silicone, over his eyes are a pair of illuminated blue lenses which completely block out his eyes for dignity's sake (he thinks his eyes look freaky.) Two tags sit on either of his cheekbones, acting as a discreet form of handle which can be used to pop the visor on and off for cleaning. The device is entirely flexible, so facial expressions can still be easily depicted. The visor acts mainly as a source of input, the visual information he receives is delivered straight to the complex wiring and microchips within his brain where he can upload and offload visual information, essentially giving him a highly reliable photographic memory.

- There's also a small cable-jack in the back of his head where he can transfer his visual information to a computer for safekeeping, but he often forgets it's there.
