☰ BACKSTORY ☰

First born to King Erasmus of Siyseursiel, Sylvester lived his own childhood, paying no mind to the royal expectations placed upon him. Growing up he was much more interested in academia, particularly the magical arts, which his father forbade him to participate in. Without consultation, Sylvester began taking lessons with the estate’s resident mage Grimus Gerensahl, unaware of the man’s mean streak. After asking him for a potion that could turn his and Selin’s eyes green, he is instead given a potion that turns all of their living tissue green. Permanently. This of course leads to his father discovering he’s been practising magic and placing Grimus under house arrest in his tower. From then on Sylvester’s life becomes a downhill spiral. He blunders his coming of age ceremony, and gets in touch with Grimus once again with the intention of acquiring the “Book of Abyss” in order to call upon Akwan to smite his father, in this time he learns about the other Holy Remnants. This subsequent failed attempt places Sylvester and Grimus on an even tighter lockdown. From that day on, the 'Cursed Duke' truly was the laughing stock of the country. He is sent to serve in the navy but returns within months, and goes off the rails for a while upon discovering his sexuality. One Royal Gala he meets Felix for the first time, and in a moment of madness and confused attraction, asks the hybrid to smuggle him away to Urthus. In Urthus Sylvester meets Adonis and lives with Felix and his family for a number of years, the rest is history.

☰ PERSONALITY ☰
Eloquent, amiable and friendly to peers, but becomes stern and protective when nervous (especially towards Felix, his best friend and brother-in-law), usually good for magical and alchemical advice. He is largely introverted but doesn’t mind socialising with people he likes. Sylvester is on the autistic spectrum.

☰ FAULTS ☰
Gets nervous easily which can result in him becoming stern, anxious or non-verbal depending on the situation. He struggles to socialise with people he dislikes or has nothing in common with. His magic makes him prone for passing out. He can be overcautious as things going wrong frightens him.
☰ DESIRES ☰

Unconditionally loves his sister, Selin. Falls in love with Adonis Zanin, is obsessed with the magical arts and revels in any opportunity he has to nerd out about them.

☰ QUIRKS/HABITS ☰
Always reading. Is vegetarian. Plays with his hair when nervous and does a fair but of “um”ing and “ah”ing. Has a sexually devious side that comes out to play when he’s had a few to drink or is riffing off of Cassian. Flawless posture.
☰ TRIVIA ☰
- Team Role: “Citizen Three: The Tempomancer” While he has limited combat training, his time spells allow him to teleport and confuse enemies, age opponents and do anything involving time except for stopping time altogether, or undoing death - but it comes with its limits, so he also have a staff as a physical weapon to defend himself with, he can also channel his energy through this for bigger spells.

- The name Sylvester derives from the ancient Siyseurlian word 'Ss'ilvestras' meaning 'forest'. Perhaps the name was chosen by his parents for its traditional worth, as Siyseursiel is a country dominated by thick forests and woodlands.

- Sylvester's powers are essentially extinct, with Sylvester himself and Grimus Gerensahl being the only people he knows who still practise the ancient Siyseurlian techniques. It is believed that many centuries ago, the god Akwan (creator of Etrah's mass and benevolent protector of Siyseursiel) set these spells upon the people of Siyseursiel to be learned and used at the people's free will, however trouble soon followed this decision and Akwan quickly reclaimed the power, instead only bestowing the power upon those who he saw the most potential to do good. Because of this, many gave up all hope on learning the ancient magic for fear that Akwan would not approve of them, and this lack of faith in the god himself caused the eventual extinction of the spells. It surprised Sylvester when he was finally able to cast spells, and really instilled some faith in the Duke that Akwan somehow saw value in him where others who were close to him did not.
