Virgil

BACKGROUND:

Arising from humble origins as the eldest daughter of a healer and a craftsman, Virgil spelt her adolescence feeling displaced and restless amidst her seaside township. Often a social outcast due to her intense and somewhat unconventional demeanor, Virgil most frequently preferred to spend her time amidst the local forests, or deep within tales and daydreams of knights, battles, chivalry and daring feats.

Virgil is a consistently watchful and attentive woman, possessing a strong sense of dignity and pride. Although she deeply enjoys meeting others and is an avid conversationalist, Virgil is a deeply guarded individual, with a sociable demeanor which hides her stoicism and gruff frigidity. She is deeply philosophical, and refuses to share or express her problems with others in favor of evaluating and solving them herself. Is not particularly good at maintaining friendships, as she will become deeply invested within her own pursuits and will accidentally forego maintaining contact for extended durations. Although she will provide guidance and consolation for those who need it, doing so is deeply draining for her, thus she often prefers extended durations of her own company/self-isolation.
Shuns relationships, as the level of emotional vulnerability required frightens her. Fiercely defensive and proud of her maiden status.

Enjoying routine, Virgil is diligent in her training, and undertakes it with utmost seriousness. She does her utmost to maintain a pragmatic demeanor of calm, however can occasionally become deeply irritable and snarky, particularly if her routine or concentration is disrupted. Determined to a fault, will see anything she attempts through to the end and cannot bear to lose progress or abandon a goal once she is heavily concentrated or in the midst of it.
Despite her logical level-headedness and amicability, Virgil can be highly aggressive and will fiercely defend herself and others if warranted. She has no qualms with inducing violence and injury upon others if she feels the situation is warranted, and if need be would kill in self-defense. 

APPEARANCE:

The most striking aspect of Virgil's appearance is her extremely intense gaze - wide-eyed, piercing and in an eerily icy shade of the palest blue. Her large eyes contrast sharply against her tanned skin and dark, thick eyebrows. She cuts her own hair, which falls to her shoulders in an unruly, thick bob-cut. With high cheekbones and a consistently tense jaw, Virgil often appears rather haughty at first glance. Her features seem to fight for attention - large, intense eyes, a strong and slightly crooked nose, and thick-lipped, wide mouth. Her lashes are dark and long, and she has extremely pointed eyeteeth, one of which is crooked.

Following her years of consistent training, Virgil is very muscular, with particularly built forearms, biceps and naturally broad shoulders. She is a compact woman, with a relatively small bust, short torso, wide hips and thick, muscular legs. 

MISC:

- Decently knowledgeable in healing/medicine
- Enjoys crafting, carves wood and bone as a hobby
- Collects trinkets; adores rings and interesting gems/stones in particular
- Likes singing, however is not particularly fantastic at it. Can carry a decent tune.
- Somewhat pedantic about hygiene, hates feeling grimy
- Dislikes alcohol and doesn't drink, however will occasionally smoke her pipe
