Matteo

Matteo is an eloquence bard (fallen) aasimar from a noble family that is now forgotten. He travels from place to place while he lives life to the fullest and only for himself. He uses his charisma and celestial origins to deceive people and get exactly what he wants. Despite his people-pleasing occupation, Matty isn't too fond of people and their dirty greed. He has developed a sense of hatred for most of humanity, as well as a hatred for himself too. Although he lives a care-free life by talking himself out of any consequences of his actions, that wasn't always the case.

Normally, he goes around from place to place meeting people at parties while putting on a façade. He flirts, persuades, observes, and blackmails. Although he isn't a great person, he still has morals and only targets powerful people. He doesn't want money, attention, fame, or power-- he just does it for fun. When everyone loves you, why not take advantage of it? Mortals come and go so quickly, rushing to build families and relationships that last. That's never worked out for him.

While in the city of Faewood, Matteo finds himself joining a party of unique characters dedicated to organized crime. He's recognized as a valuable asset due to his skills and positions of power, and it's not like he has anything better to do. Matty is afraid of getting close to people, but maybe this party is an exception?

Matteo was born into a noble family of ?? as the eldest child and only son. As a toddler, it was revealed that he was an aasimar and not a human like the rest of his family. Into his teens, his parents were protective of him, setting high standards fit for a celestial being. He was their pride and joy. It was a pretty standard household, and Matty loved his family-- especially his younger sister. She was the only one he felt 'protective' over. They were very close and adored eachother. Alongside this, him and his angelic guide had gotten close, falling in love. Although he wanted to make everyone proud, he could never live up to these standards. In his late teens, Matteo decided that he wanted to be bard. He loved being the center of attention and liked the idea of meeting new people and seeing new places. His little sister liked music too, so he'd always play the violin for her. Although he was passionate about this, his parents didn't approve, wanting something more fitting of his title.

When he was 18, he had pissed off the wrong people by speaking without any thought. Around the same time, Matteo and his parents had gotten into a big argument about his future. They just couldn't seem to understand that he didn't want to be a hero. Things between him and his angelic guide had gotten rocky, too. How was he supposed to guide Matteo if that's not what he wanted? A few days later, the people he had upset broke into his house, taking revenge on his family. Although he could've prevented the murders, he was overcome with fear and hid. His guide was begging him to help as Matteo hid and listened to it all. It wasn't until it was over that he was able to come out and kill them.

Overcome with guilt, he had failed to do the one thing expected of him. This caused a huge breakup between him and his lover, which resulted in him falling from grace and getting left behind. Full of heartbreak and hatred, he burned the house down and fled as far as he could. He's spent the last 10 years going from place to place using people to his advantage. He lives in a cruel world and is full of nothing but hate towards himself and others. He has nothing to live for, but enjoys life to the fullest by making it hell for others.
