Though, I will copy what I wrote to you to put here, because I can't be bothered to rewrite stuff 8D

Yuka, a seedrian spirit, and Garret, a living inkdrian, went to the same school together. At first, having no knowledge of the other. That was until their school banned going shoeless on campus. As Two people who absolutely hated wearing shoes, the two of them took great offense to this. Yuka, always being an outspoken person, started a protest to overturn the ban. Garret hearing of this protest a few days before it was set to take place, put his name down for it on the protest's event page.
It wasn't until the day of the protests that Garret and Yuka finally met. It was hectic, Garret was overwhelmed almost immediately, until Yuka spotted him. Yuka, not wanting anyone to be hurt during the protest, took Garret aside and allowed him to calm down a bit before both of them returned to the event.
A few days later, Garret tried to contact Yuka so he could thank her for her help that day. Finding her student account, he sent her a message which eventually turned into a long conversation. They were almost inseparable after that.

After graduation, Garret decided to move to Yuka's hometown to see what Apismia was like. They ended becoming roommates too. They even got the same job too, apprentices to one of the greatest Scientists in Vatalai, Ramona. It worked well for the two of them! Though it changed a bit when a couple, a seedrian and an inkdrian came in asking about a possible cure for a genetic disorder that one of them had. Ramona had agreed to carry out the surgery, and when it was finished, the seedrian was covered in the gradient and ink of the other.
Curious, Garret and Yuka asked the veteran scientist what that was about, and Ramona was happy to fill them in. It was a form of Artificial Inkdrian creation, where two beings would end up sharing a body. And, In the vast majority of cases, the inkdrian would be completely incorporated into their seedrian host. Ramona went on to mention how this specific instance was special, as she wasn't sure if a seedrian spirit would even be able to be injected, due to the difference in anatomy, but, it probably possible due to both participants were spirits.

This thought, that it was possible due to both participants being spirits, stuck in the two apprentices minds. What would happen if a spirit, and a living being were fused in this way? Would it even work? There was only one way to figure out.
After weighing the risks, Garret and Yuka agreed. They were already super close as is, figuratively inseparable, why not risk making it literal? Under the guidance of Ramona, their experiment took place. Could a seedrian spirit be infected by the ink of a living inkdrian? At the conclusion the answer was clear, Yes it was.

Garret and Yuka, now going by an abbreviation of their names, G.Y, continue their work as Ramona's now singular apprentice. So far, they haven't regretted their decision, either.

As a whole, G.Y seems to fluctuate between emotions very quickly. So fast in fact, that some may have a hard time keeping up with them. This all has to do with Yuka and Garret switching in and out.
When Yuka's in charge, G.Y is an outgoing, punny, and excitable. Always willing to take on a task even when they have far, far too many as is. They're also a bit of a people pleaser as well.
When Garret's in charge though, G.Y is far more reserved, diligent, however not very socially adept. Making sure to get everything finished, and trying to temper the hyper tendencies of their other half.

G.Y's mentor, and the reason why they're the way they are. They definitely appreciate all the work she does, and are happy to help in anyway they can!

G.Y's Friend. Originally being introduce when Garret and Yuka started working at Ramona's lab, the three of them became close friends pretty quickly! Especially after the two of them were fused together. Artink solidarity!

• Their Flower is a Hibiscus
• They tend to go by they/them pronouns, but aren't too annoyed when you use he/him when referring solely to Garret, and she/her when referring solely to Yuka
• As a side effect to being a spirit and a living being mixed together, They are considered a Half-Spirit.
