✧ Cats Of Prey ✧

The dynasty known as Cats Of Prey is a small group of cats who's survived in the high mountains for generations. Despite the many challenges of it's environment their group stays strong with unbreakable bonds.

During the warrior ceremony the apprentice is tasked with battling a bird of prey and killing it; resulting in a successful trial. They will then honor the bird by decorating their den-nest with it's feathers.

A talon of the bird is brought to lay alongside past warriors' successful hunts and trials in massive decorative spirals. Every bird of prey that is slain is to be honored with a token resembling it's life so that the ancestors and the bond between cats and birds of prey will continue to be prosperous.

The symbiotic relationship between the dynasty and birds of prey have been the most crucial necessity for survival; the birds finding and sometimes even killing prey as cats take the leftovers or instead help slay the target for the birds to then consume the rests. Of course both sides often become prey to each other as well, it is believed to be an omen or even an offering required by their ancestors.

The dynasty resied in vast cave systems near the snow tops of the highest mountains, they always have a reliable water source but during newleaf the tunnel systems are prone to flooding. The cold times of leafbare also pose the treat of prey being scarce but the clan is good at planning ahead; often storing prey in cold and dry cave pockets.

Greenleaf season is rich with prey and flora, with many nomadic animals making their way through the mountains. The group is efficient and tactical, being well aware of all the good observation spots to hunt and guard their territory.
