Basics
Aphrodite was a pet margay who died and was brought back to life by her life energy being shared with a pen-tailed tree shrew.
When killed the side of her skull was crushed, cracking her skull from ear to eye socket and destroying her eye. From this wound and along her neck grows thick leaves and pink petals. She continues to wear the collar her owners gave her.
Abilities
Aphrodite was once a regular margay until an unusual event occurred. Shortly after she died a tree shrew ended up sharing it's life force with her which returned her to life. This life force allows her to live without a functioning heart and spine and causes magical plant growth which substitutes for organs and physical properties she has lost. Her soul is separate from the shrew but the two share the same life, and so if one dies so will the other. Aphrodite has heightened intelligence now while her shrew friend has an extended lifespan.
Personality
Aphrodite may be the most optimistic, innocent, and hopeful creature ever. Though she may have been killed by a car she sees it not as a death but as a birth into a new life. Even if the end of a story or life ends in tragedy she is positive once in heaven their souls will find true piece. Aphrodite wants to find good in everything she comes across and does not believe in true evil, only misguidance and ignorance.
Aphrodite is slower in taking action in that she attempts to find the positive reason or solution behind a situation. She understands that there are scars on all our lives and that a part of all of us is ugly, but there is also a part of all of us that is beautiful and it is that beauty that she aspires to bring out in the world.
Aphrodite is the muse of consideration for it is her consideration for the feelings and reasons of others that brings out the brightness in her and those around her.
History
During her first life Aphrodite was the companion to a wealthy couple. Captured in the jungles of South America as a kitten she was raised as a house cat. While her family was on a visit to Borneo Aphrodite saw a small rodent and ran from her masters to catch it, only to run in front of a car. Part of her skull was cracked, and her neck and upper back crushed. Being buried in the soft soil of the jungle. Scavengers dug up her body, a bird plucking the damaged eye from the cracked portion of her face, before an odd thing happened. By some strange force plant life began a rapid growth through her body. Fungus under her skin turned the pigment of her fur pink, large fleshy leaves and flower peddles grew from the damaged neck and back. The rapid growing of the flowers caused unusually quick fermentation which attracted a little Pen-Tailed Tree-shrew that took residence inside of her missing eye hiding behind that leaves that cover her face.
