At age 15, Kerry Merle, a newly awakened creature of the abyss, was sent off to summer camp by its human parents to try and learn how to control its form and powers under stress. It became a social outcast after an altercation where it bit a counsellor, found one true friend in the form of 'Arthur', a young werewolf, and was chased by monster hunters all summer while trying to stay hidden and protect their newfound friend.

At 24, however, Merle's a lot less restricted in its abilities. A flourishing young cosmic horror, they're far stronger than they were in their youth, and far more confident in using their true nature, albeit for their own gain. They have a tendency towards violence and aggression, mostly down to nine years of being hounded by monster hunters. They reconnect with 'Arthur', now going by Legon, and as their worldview is shifted by how much he's changed, part of them begins to change too... even as their true nature threatens to overpower their old self.
