Emery

Emery is a human who grew up in a tiny mountain village. To people she isn’t close to, Emery comes across as stern and fierce, but to her family, she’s warm and supportive. She takes her position as a village guard very seriously, and has quickly risen through their ranks thanks to her sharp eyes and capabilities in battle. Although Emery is distrustful of strangers, she’s willing to give them a chance as long as she doesn’t think they pose a threat to her village. And when the beasts around her home begin to grow especially brash, she turns to a group of outsiders to try and find the source of their unrest.

Emery’s village is surrounded by strange woods containing huge, lurking beasts. Although the town primarily survives through raising crops and keeping herds of animals, the threat of these monsters is always on the horizon. Emery wanted to protect her home, which led to her training to become a village guard. In order to prove herself and be accepted by the guard, Emery befriended a wild pegasus who she then named Zephyr. Zephyr is skittish but fiercely loyal to Emery; she values him for his intelligence and his companionship.
