Gorsespring
Warrior | 60 moons old | He/Him

"Do you think ants have feelings...?"

Gorsespring is a shorthaired tom known for his excellent bird hunting skills. He is even rumored to be the cat with the highest jump in the entire clan! He doesn't seem interested in displaying his talent, however, opting to fulfill his role to the clan as a camp guard, alongside Badgerbelly.

Likes
  • Green-leaf. Despite his reserved nature, Gorsespring is an enthusiast of the warm weather and abundant sunshine. But the clan might beg to differ, someone once told him he could grow taller underneath the sun, and he has been sunbathing ever since.
  • His mom. As a kitten raised with no siblings, it's easy to say the tom's relationship with his mother was strong, to say the least. Gorsespring misses his mother and often visits her grave.
  • Listening to others. Once a bright storyteller himself, the warrior has ran out of the energy he once had. Gorsespring would much rather listen to others, making mental notes of their tales in his head.
Dislikes
  • Waking up early. It's just... annoying! Who decided tasks should be done in the morning? Gorsespring thinks whoever made that rules sucks big time!!
  • Slimy textures. Specially on foods. The warrior can not stand getting his paws into tree sap or sticky mud. It's unpleasant, uncomfortable, and even repulsive due to the way it feels on his fur.
  • Swimming. A misconception the tom has to clarify more than he'd like to admit... Gorsespring can not swim to save his life and will sink right into the bottom of any pool of water. He's named after his great leaps, not his swimming abilities.

Clever Distant Reserved

Once known as the clan's most whimsical and enthusiastic character, Gorsespring has grown into a shell of what he used to be. He distances himself from others and prefers to keep to himself, but will not hesitate to lend a helping hand. The tom is rather emotional and wears his heart on his sleeve.

He's curious and retired to the role of camp's guard, there's not many interesting things that happens so Gorsespring has plenty of time for himself.

Recap

Gorsekit was born to Wheatsong and an unknown feline, however, no one ever questioned who his father was, he has always resembled his mother, so no cat even bothered to speculate on who his father could be. Gorsespring was known to be very optimistic from the moment he was born, even if he lacked littermates or friends.

Gorsepaw , like any apprentice would, was very enthusiastic to become an apprentice, and performed his tasks without any objections, making his journey to become a warrior not as difficult as it was for his fellow clanmates. His mentor made sure to teach him how to use his hind legs to give the greatest leaps ever known to the clan, which came in handy during his warrior assessment, Gorsespring jumped so high Whitestar knew in that moment he was ready to be a warrior.

At the age of 12 moons, Gorsepaw earned the name Gorsesprinhis warrior name, and joined his clanmates with pride.

After the flood:

The flood wasn't the cause of the warrior's drastic change, but rather a factor that contributed to it, as little by little, the droplets overfilled a glass. Following the disaster, Gorsespring retired from spar training to become a camp guard.

Relationship
Gorsespring loves his clanmates, he always had, even now that he doesn't really direct a word to most of them. He is loyal to Pineclan and tries his best to help as he can.

Frenemy

Dusksong's nephew and the tom had a complicated relationship, the two were apprenticed at the same time, but Vipershade was one of deceptions. He was the first cat he cared for to leave clan without a proper farewell, and the tom can't seem to wrap his head around the event.

It's complicated.

The molly was Gorsespring friend, but there was definetly some feeling brewing from the tom's part. From the moment the warrior met the rogue, he couldn't deny he had been enchanted, however no this emotions feel more like a curse. Nettletongue left the clan, and again, Gorsespring wasn't worthy of a goodbye.
