History
Aries was not always a satyr, though you wouldn't know it immediately by how comfortable he is in his own skin.
Childhood
Aries grew up as Samantha, a girl in the middle of the city of Somberdew. His family had worked under royalty for generations, most of them being tailors or chefs. Growing up around the palace was interesting for him. As a child, he was allowed to socialize with the three young princes, and he even came to think of them as brothers of a kind. They were great friends for 16 years until it was time for him to be assigned a job.
Career
Due to his close relationship with the prince siblings, Aries was tasked with being the direct assistant to the eldest sibling. At first, he was pleased with this development, but over time the eldest sibling became rude and dismissive of Aries. As the prince's attitude shifted and he became more abrasive, Aries became bitter and angry, though he continued to do as he was told for fear of the consequences if he were to speak out.
Exile
For a decade Aries continued to serve the Prince, all the while growing increasingly embittered towards his life. Along with dissatisfaction with his job, he had started to feel uncomfortable in his own skin in ways he couldn't understand.
At the age of 26, he caught a citizen stealing from the palace. Though he was at first unsure what to do, all Aries could think about was how badly these people had treated him and everyone around him. So, after a moment's hesitation, he decided to help the citizen to gather what they could.
He was caught in the act, and while the citizen escaped, Aries was not so lucky. As punishment for the betrayal, he was cursed and sent into exile.
Not long into his exile is when the egg cracked. He would transition over the next couple of years, eventually making friends with a former guard named Pi along the way.
