About

Known across Tyria and beyond as the Pact Commander, dragonslayer, killer of gods, Hero of Amnoon, Champion, and Wayfinder, he's made a name for himself as a powerful ally to have and a dangerous enemy to make.

Traits
  • After years of adventuring, he's badly scarred in places. Tends to dress in such a way that all his scars are covered.
  • He bloomed once, as a sapling. Meisi kept one of the flowers from it. Alba doesn't know if he still has it.
  • Sometimes wears his foliage down.
  • His foliage changes color depending on his health; if it's dark or grey, he's unwell or corrupted.
Pack
  • A handful of Aurene's scales
  • His ashes from Elona
  • Caladbolg Solana dagger
Background

Prior to his awakening from the Dream, he dreamt of the shield of the moon, and bore witness to the Shadow of the Dragon, which quickly led him across the world to Orr to slay Zhaitan. This was only the beginning, as Alba would go on to kill numerous Elder Dragons, take down an endless stream of villains, best the god of war at combat, and put an end to the reign of Palawa Joko.

By the time he ended the dragon cycle in Cantha, Alba was under too much stress and strain to keep going. He briefly snapped while in Gyala Delve, attacking Yao and then Meisi and vanishing into the mine; Canach, Bourbon, and Meisi were able to bring him back safely, after forcing him to release his tiger, who he'd souldbonded to for a six month period while the beast was wounded.

Too soon after Gyala, Alba was scooped up by the Astral Ward and the Wizards, and became the Wayfinder for them, leaving Tyria in the dark below. While he was fighting demons miles above, his friends and lovers moved on, assuming him dead or worse, just "pulling an Alba." When Auruim's arm was torn off in a Kryptis rift, Bourbon dragged him through to the Wizard's Tower, where they were bitterly reunited. Auruim would spend the next year or more withering, eventually comatose while Alba worked on the war with the Kryptis.

At the end of the war between Wizards and Kryptis, Alba was "encouraged" by his remaining circle to put in a resignation; Canach and Bourbon cornered him into retiring not just from Wayfinder work, but from commanding, and he was strongarmed into returning to Tyria to settle down and live peacefully.

He found retirement to be miserable; he'd spend the days on the beach, drunk and angry, and the nights also drunk and angry, fighting with Canach until one or both of them fell asleep. Auruim was still recovering, so slowly it seemed like he was moving backwards at times. At the height of all this, Alba was torn through a rift in the Mists, sucked out to sea, and dumped into another version of Tyria in which another version of him, Nemeos Moonsetter, had conquered the world for himself. After several weeks there, and being summarily stabbed to death by his doppelganger, Alba was dumped back into his Tyria and washed back up on shore to sleep it off.

Currently, tensions are still high. People are tired of giving him time and space and second chances and third chances and fourth chances to act. Much of the guild no longer wants much to do with him. It will take time for things to repair, and work.

Trivia
  • Currently living with Canach and Auruim in a house on the Isle of Reflection.
  • He's afraid, at this point, that he's something worse than Nemeos; a leech that drains people to nothing without letting them pull away.
  • His return to the Isle of Reflection was preceded by a visit to Meisi and Zeeki, wherein Canach forced him to apologize for his behavior up until that point.
  • Before everything, he was a Vigil soldier, along with Meisi and Auruim. Now the three of them feel splintered.
