A rather controversial public figure, Kusuo (last name unknown) is the face behind some of the most popular puppet characters in the world. From finger puppets to huge fabric beasts, Kusuo’s operated them all, gaining massive critical acclaim from those who actually pay attention to the people behind the puppets. Kusuo has puppeteered for many prominent performances and characters, but is perhaps most well-known for his weekly satirical comedy show ‘Here For Half An Hour’, which is ‘officially’ hosted by his main puppet Kaya, a cynical and outspoken persona with a foul mouth and fouler temper. The show is critically acclaimed as something closer to performance art than late-night comedy, but has been critiqued for its darker humour and almost violent tone. Kusuo seemingly disappeared off the map about a year ago, but has resurfaced in the past year with the release of a new comedy tour, ‘Not Dead Yet’, and the announced return of ‘Here For Half An Hour’.
