Raizen is an odd student who, offstage, gives off  the impression of seeming much older than he is. Oftentimes he claims he can't be bothered to join in activities that require too much energy, complains about his aching limbs, or treats everyone else as though they are decades younger than him. Aside from that, he's generally relaxed and happy to go with the flow, taking a much more supportive role in his unit than an active one.

However, he has a much brighter, more energetic side to  him; particularly on stage, he goes all out and is very excitable in  both performance and temperament. This side can also be unlocked by seriously engaging him in his interests (i.e. underground music). He also gets serious and competitive only if someone else drags him into a contest.
He can be quite dramatic and over the top as well, he’s not afraid to show emotion.

When he was a first year, he  was always energetic and hot-blooded on and off stage. This lifestyle soon tired him out and he mellowed out towards his second year, eventually transforming into this glorified elderly man in a young body.
