Profile

GHOST is an artificial intelligence program developed by IMPACT themselves using pieces of rudimentary code and prototype AI stored on the servers of the Neptune Science Division. After crash landing on Earth and falling into a coma, IMPACT did this by accident while trying to mentally piece themselves together when they reconnected with the NSD's network. While not in possession of a physical body, GHOST manages to communicate with IMPACT during times of great distress, serving them as a soothing presence inside their mind using a daydream-like simulation of himself. This is projected in IMPACT's vision as a type of augmented reality. This, however, has its own complications, as GHOST has a personality of his own and often becomes an annoyance when he tries to control IMPACT's actions with what is referred to by the NSD as a "backseat driver AI", a subconscious and uncontrollable set of code producing feelings and actions that can only be suppressed with extreme mental effort. This phenomenon is unique to IMPACT and JUSTICE thus far, [[and perhaps, even Papillon]], and is being further researched by the NSD using 42AZEL.

As GHOST's head design is in constant flux, holographic designs projected around a malleable "head", IMPACT can tell that it is not physically possible for him to exist as a physical body yet. However, when the day comes, [[AND IT WILL]], he will not leave IMPACT's side. He is enamored with them, and intends to live and breathe only for them.

The NSD eventually does succeed into giving GHOST a physical body, years down the line. His head is always in a state somewhere between solid and liquid due to the unique chemical makeup of it. The scientists of the NSD managed to make a synthetic cerebrospinal fluid (with a mix of other, [[classified]] substances, so that he is able to project the holographic imagery) that coagulates around a specialized Lobot core that is able to manipulate its state -- whether it will all become liquid, or harden to rock, it is all the will of GHOST's core. This state changing ability can be used instinctively or at will, but at its resting point, the fluid is an oily, sticky, pudding-like substance. It contains a variety of endorphins and enkephalins so that, when this substance is ingested by anybody else, their stress levels and pain reception lower considerably. This is to ensure his task as a Lobot that can put others at ease, both with his voice and body. Whether he will actually be sent to Earth however, remains to be seen.

As GHOST is technically not supposed to be an official Lobot, he does not have the same designations as officially approved Lobots, only carrying the two classifications that IMPACT carries also. As such, he truly is a ghost among the Lobots.
