Barry Goodman

Barry Goodman is a happy member of a popular jazz quartet in New Orleans. Of course, it wasn’t always this way. Matter of fact, it hasn’t been this way for very long, even.

Back in the 60’s, two people, a man named Daniel and a woman named Shade, found him performing a solo vocal jazz number in a small club - he was young then, early twenties maybe, and eager to pursue a career in the genre he loved most - and forced him into their rock band, Chichimagichi.

Frustratedly, Barry went along with them - even sticking around after Daniel, their drummer, became a drunken wreck following the loss of his pet snail, eventually going off the deep end and getting arrested. He kept going until he and Shade completed their world tour, but after that, he just couldn’t take it anymore.

Barry felt he wasn’t living authentically, not doing what he really wanted to do. Plus, the stress that comes with being in such a chaotic atmosphere was really getting to him. And worst of all, he didn't even like rock! So, he left Chichimagichi, and decided to forge his own path.

He moved to the jazz capital of the United States, New Orleans, and things are really starting to look up! It's the 80's, he's in his fourties now, and he's a part of the jazz world at last. The man couldn't be happier.

But, little does he know, a certain drummer is juuuust about to finish his jail time, and he isn’t too happy that his band members finished a world tour without him…
