Calculating . Apathetic . Prideful

”Nature offers a violence.”

The last alpha female of the notorious Crimson Hollows, Scorpion's leadership was stained a vivid cardinal. Apathetic and paranoid, her paranoia would often create lingering affects throughout the pack; when she was nervous, her subordinates reflected this by being terrified. Her tone toward her subordinates was cold and callous. Scorpion was not known for her kindness or mercy, and often reacted violently to anyone who overstepped her boundaries or existed beyond their welcome within her space. Her reactions were issued without forewarning or explanation, leaving many of the pack members fearful of her presence or downright petrified of being anywhere near her. She held no quarrels with cannibalizing her own packmates. Unknown to others, she was the cause of their demise indirectly, picking off those who had wronged her in the past or she deemed weak and unfit to maintain their place in the pack. Her hide bares the scars of these past challenges. Scorpion and her mate Adder occasionally had offspring during the seasons in the past together, of which she felt no maternal instinct. The life or death of her young was irrelevant to her; if they died, she viewed it as natural selection. Her carelessness for her offspring meant that the others within the pack either took on a parenting role or that the hatchlings died within their first year to the climates or inhabitants of the island.

Over the seasons, Adder had disappeared, creating an uprising within the pack, a stir in behavior and ferocity. Scorpion failed to select a suitor in time, causing her to flee from her pack, at risk of cannibalization. After being chased from multiple packs and failing to submit to the hierarchies of other packs, she now resides within Delphi, Scorpions original harsh and apathetic temperament has slowly changed to one that is more reserved and quiet; Still, she lacks a tolerance for irritation and being challenged. Seeing families around her interact with their own offspring makes her regret not making time for her own, wishing that she had spent what little time it took to raise them instead of pushing the responsibility onto others or no one at all.

Prologue

As time passes, Scorpion grows into an apathetic and calculated young utahraptor, driven by her ambition to earn her place within the pack. Scorpion flexes her talons, displaying threatening behaviors toward one of the packs gamma's, Zephyr. Scorpion parts her jaws, her talons flex as she makes threatening displays towards a Gamma, one with light scales and a strange name; Zephyr. A violent scrap ensues that drags on until Zephyr is forced into submission. Scorpion’s dark scales bare the first of many scars with this victory, and it gains her the Alpha male’s attention. For her confident and assertive nature, Adder entrusts her to a lead hunting role.

As the sun sets behind the towering pines, the pack is lured by the rumbling calls of an Ankylosaurus, the large herbivores club clashing against the undergrowth. Scorpion leads the hunt, and seizes the opportunity to prove her value and strength. With patience and precision the pack cuts through armored hide, and it’s wounds seep with blood. Through patience and precision the Ankylosaurus's weight crashes in the foliage, blood seeps from the many scattered wounds on its hide. Adder approaches Scorpion, expressing affection through trills and coos, showcasing his crest as a gesture of courtship. Scorpion reciprocates these feelings, gently pressing her snout into his side.

Life As Alpha

Scorpion was quick to adapt to this new ranking, snapping at those beneath her or refused to submit. She became a feared leader who was recognized for her short temper and disregard for others. She grew paranoid in her position, an illness that was easily transferred throughout the pack, an atmosphere that would often linger; when she was nervous, her subordinates reflected this by being terrified. She held no quarrels with cannibalizing her own packmates. Unknown to others, she was the cause of their demise indirectly, picking off those who had wronged her in the past or she deemed weak and unfit to maintain their place in the pack. Her hide bares the scars of these past challenges. After the packs old beta, Crow had stepped down from his position. Hawk was selected by Adder as the new beta, Scorpion was skeptical as to where this male’s loyalties lied, occasionally snapping at him when he get on her nerves.

However, After many moons of handling the pack on her own it was clear to Scorpion, Adder had disappeared.

Shattered Reign

Since Adders sudden disappearance uprising stirred within the pack. Scorpion could not stand the chaos. Even yet as the pack seemed to unravel with each passing season it seemed to destroy itself ever so more, Scorpion ignored to the coo's of newly interested males, ones that dared to replace Adder, and showed no intention of caring for the wellbeing of her pack. Instead, her mind lingered elsewhere. Hawk. A enigmatic male with an observant and standoffish nature. Scorpion couldn't shake the feeling that he was the reason for Adders disappearance. But Uncertainty clouded her judgment when it came to him, a fact that frustrated her to no end. She hated it. The paranoia intensified and clouded her thoughts with each passing day, fueling her belief that Hawk had killed Adder in cold blood, to seize the position of alpha for himself.

As evening descended upon the pack, a pack of starved Allosaurus emerged the dense forest edge. Scorpion was quick to escape, swiftly leaping onto a nearby ledge. But as she glanced back, she notice Hawk, the traitor himself, dashing towards her rock in order to seek protection. Her gaze narrowed, and a growl parted her lip, in a moment of fury, she struck him with a swift kick, sending him plummeting to a seemingly inevitable demise below.

Since the sudden disappearances of Scorpion's mate and her newly chosen beta, pack members began to grow erratic and defiant. Spars for position were more common and escalated into violent confrontations, often resulting in fatalities. Scorpion had no other option than to flee, Irene quick to follow her lead.

Adder Life-long Mate

There was one exception to her brutality, however, and this exception lied within the form of Adder, her mate. Hidden from wandering eyes, she would give him small amounts of affection, like a quick nuzzle to the cheek or a soft look in his direction. What small amount of cordial feelings she had for Adder were often spent from one simple interaction a day. Scorpion was left miserable with the disappearance of Adder, but later on finds him again after many years.

Irene Close Friend

Scorpion tolerated Irene within Crimson Hollows, often hissing at the other female if she'd grow too close or friendly. After Scorpion left her place as Alpha, turning to a life alone Irene followed and the two bonded during their life alone before edging back into pack life together. Scorpion is overly shielding and protective of Irene in this new life.

venus.png
Venus Mourned Friend

Scorpion was closest with Venus often licking each others wounds after hunts, sharing tongues was a very uncommon behavior for Scorpion. Venus was considered one of the very few Utahraptors in the pack whos judgement was asked for. When Adder disappeared from her side Scorpion seemed to be much more affectionate and possessive, often snapping at Crow, Venus's seasonal mate. Scorpion often reminisces on their time together that always leaves a bitter sweet taste in her jaws.

Juniper Friend

During her reign, Scorpion respected Juniper for not only her servitude to the pack, but also for her kindness and compassion. She holds high trust of the female, considering she would care for the alphas young while Scorpion was away leading hunts. Juniper lead her pack faithfully when she was not present, hoping for rest or a time to not care on leading the pack. Her trust for Juniper was strong as blood, and eventually earned her her promotion to beta, being Scorpions decision.

thorn.png
Thorn Rival

Scorpion harbored a burning hatred for Thorn. She loathed her rebellious behaviour, whereas Thorn would often infuriate Scorpion by initiation spars with the alpha female. Scorpion was always quick to punish Thorn whenever she saw fit. Scorpion would drive out Thorn whenever prey was caught, ensuring that Thorn was always left with nothing to eat. She'd always exclude the female, and if ever the case came that someone was to be the one to die, she would not have hesitated to kill Thorn herself to prevent the others death.

hawk.png
Hawk Rival

Scorpion believed of Hawk to be cynical and untrustworthy, furious at the thought that Hawk may have had plans of challenging Adder for alpha. Despite him being her beta, Scorpion would call Hawk off prey or away from Adder, snapping and hissing at him whenever she felt was necessary, and even at times when it wasn't. Her paranoia made her extremely distrustful of the male, especially with his skill in the hunt and the steadiness at which he had climbed the ranks. While Hawk would be submissive to Scorpion, she noticed him some nights, staring at her and her mate with a gaze of a bird of prey eying a rabbit, dangerous and calculating. Scorpions paranoia lead her to be the primary cause of his demise.
