Past
Ezra was born into a family that served DJ Octavio. Naturally, him and his older sister, Prima, started training to be in his army at a young age. While Prima is more of a stealth sniper, Ezra was always quick and adgile, making him perfect for up close encounters. The two of them were insepriable, both only taking missions if they could do them together. Ezra was known as a trouble maker, known for playing pranks on fellow soldiers and playing with his victims before defeating them.
Splatoon 1
During the events of the first game, Ezra and Prima would meet Agent 3 in combat. Ezra was far younger than his enemy, but still made for a tough battle. He would always lose, starting this one-sided rivally between him and Agent 3. After the final battle with DJ Octavio, Prima disappeared. With no one else to blame, Ezra thought it was Agent 3 who killed her. He started to plan to take revenge on Agent 3 and was part of the plot to free DJ Octavio.
Splatoon 2
Due to him remaining loyal to DJ Octavio, Ezra has been promoted to leader of his own special opts team (also because everyone else has left). Eventually, he realized that everyone around him was mind controled, but didn't really mind it. He thought of it was more quiet and fun to mess with other soldiers this way. He still wanted to take revenge on Agent 3, but he started to see her less and less. One day he ambushed Agent 4, thinking she was the one he was looking for. Of course, Agent 4 was able to defeat him. He felt different when around Agent 4, like he wanted to be around her more. Ezra decided that from then one, she would be his new rival. After getting defeated a couple of times, Agent 4 finally managed to capture Ezra. She wanted answers on what DJ Octavio was planning, but Ezra actually didn't know so he pretended like he did. In exchange for information on his sister, he would tell her what his leader was planning. Agent 4 didn't know what else to do so let him go. Ezra continued to hang around Agent 4 up until the battle against DJ Octavio.
After
Ezra eventually did learn that Prima became a sanitized octoling and was able to reunite with her. He still keeps hope that one day DJ Octavio will return and he will still willingly serve in his army. Him and Agent 4 are still in a heated rivally where every week or so he will challenger her to a battle. Of course he always loses, but in a way, he likes every chance he can be with her.
