Lunar Distortion
Mira is a museum curator and collector currently residing in the Sweaty Arena of Cats. How they got there is a bit of a mystery, but they arrived with three pink Flinx and the request to open a museum. The residents welcomed them and gave them part of a nearby hill to build the museum into. Mira's collection grew quickly as the other residents started giving them donations, prompting them to place a donations box near the front door. They'd often accompany the other explorers on their expeditions in the hopes of finding ruined houses to pillage. Mira's collecting soon became an obsession as they joined more expeditions in search of statues and paintings.
Since they arrived with Flinx in tow, Mira was assigned as the party's Summoner and given new equipment to match. They still wear a Flinx Fur Coat and consider their summons to still be the Flinx they arrived with. While there's more of them and they certainly no longer look like Flinx, no one's been able to confirm whether or not Mira is correct. It's not clear how Mira ended up in the Arena but after they did the amount of strange moon-related events increased. Since their arrival a record number of random Blood Moons and Solar Eclipses have stricken the lands, and while no one can directly link this to Mira they do feel somewhat responsible.
Mira came from a land nearby the Arena where they'd begun training as a Summoner. They'd just learned how to handle three Flinx when their world was stricken by a Blood Moon, and immediately after a Solar Eclipse. After sustaining a series of very severe and very specific injuries from a werewolf, a zombie merman and a Frankenstein they heeded orders to escape and took off running. They left in the mid morning and by midday had reached the ocean, a dead end, but took their chances with the waters and attempted to swim from the mainland. Without any knowledge of nearby islands they just swam, hoping to outrun the horrors that followed, and eventually blacked out from exhaustion and blood loss.
Mira woke up on the shores of the Arena, and after seeing sunny skies assumed they were safe. They stayed on the beach for some time, attempting to recover from their wounds and tearing up their coat to create bandages. It took them an entire day's worth of walking to reach Rey, Bean and Centrifuge's forest base but they were determined to find somewhere to stay before nightfall. Exhausted, torn to shreds and completely lost, Mira stayed in the base overnight and was overjoyed to see the sun had risen as normal the next morning. After recovering from their wounds Mira asked if they could open a museum in the Arena, much to the local's confusion, but their request was accepted.
Soon after settling into life in the Arena, another Blood Moon rose and Mira's fears returned. Luckily everyone banded together to protect one another and the night passed with little concern, putting Mira's mind at some ease. They still feel incredibly guilty during Blood Moons and Solar Eclipses, as if blaming themself for the events, but out of fear they keep those feelings to themself. Seeing how their companions protect one another and don't seem overly phased by the moon's strange changes has made them feel more secure, but even more fearful that they'd be kicked out if anyone figured out they were causing the events. It's not confirmed whether or not Mira causes Blood Moons and Solar Eclipses, but whatever does clearly has it out for them.
Since banding together with Rey, Centrifuge and Bean, Mira has become an incredibly proficient fighter and aided in protecting the Arena. This involved defeating the various boss monsters that plagued the land, including one Empress of Light. It took the team multiple attempts to defeat her, but upon doing so Mira came into posession of her wings. This, although they didn't realise it at at the time, changed Mira's forms one final time and gave them the power to zip through the skies at incredible speeds, but only to avoid danger.
Notable Events
- Less than an hour after beating the Wall of Flesh, Mira found a Jungle Key. Several days later they found a Desert Key when waiting for a sandstorm and allowing their summons to run wild.
- During their first Blood Moon they found two Money Troughs.
- During their first Solar Eclipse they found Broken Bat Wings, two Neptune's Shells, and an Eye Spring.
- During an expedition in the underground jungle, Mira was told to bust open a strange bulb they came across. They were told not to kill Plantera, which promptly came after them, but believed they'd be able to get pretty close to beating it. They took down about 1/20th of it's health before being torn to shreds.
- During a particularly nasty Martian Invasion their friend Rey's snow tiger happened to take out a few Devoted Cultists, and feeling bad Mira asked what would happen if they put the lone cultist out of their misery. Rey encouraged them to do it, and they were subsequently destroyed by the Lunatic Cultist.
- On their first Halloween Mira found four Goodie Bags and some Unlucky Yarn, which they gave to Bean as a gift. They had no idea how rare the yarn is.
- Mira visited Mejarland and another small world temporarily, and upon entering a Blood Moon occurred.
- Mira also visited Gippstown, and upon entering a Solar Eclipse occurred.
- During an uneventful night Rey and Mira decided to obtain Bone Keys, turning it into an eventful night. A Blood Moon happened almost immediately after they entered the new land.

In this form Mira is their purest self: friendly, cheerful and always willing to lend a hand. They enjoy going on expeditions and finding rare items, and have a knack for finding them. They don't know much about most of the things they find, however, turning to the more experienced explorers for information. On more than one occasion Mira has presented Rey and Centifuge with a Biome Key wondering what it unlocks, without realising how rare it is that they've found multiple distinct keys. This has prompted their companions to take Mira on dangerous expeditions in hopes their luck will bless them with rare loot, but it seems whenever Mira wants to find something they have to work twice as hard to find it.
At night Mira transforms into a werewolf and their demeanour flips. In this form they're distant and quiet, often taking off into the wilderness and avoiding town. They seem to enjoy the twisted moon events like this, tearing into enemies with their claws. They often launch off all fours and have considerably worse posture as a werewolf. Their voice changes as well, becoming mostly deep growls. They rarely actually speak and mostly use gestures to communicate, resorting to words when absolutely necessary. Werewolf Mira seems to be on high alert all the time, their ears twitching towards any sounds as if everything was a threat. Mira is aware of their werewolf side, often joking it's a Jekyll and Hyde situation but assuring everyone that they have the same memories, and recall everything from their transformations. They're not sure why their personality changes when they transform but often apologise for this part of them being rude.
Some time after taking up residence in the Arena, Mira started changing colour in the rain and eventually began transforming into a mermaid when submerged in water. As a mermaid they often have a vacant expression and never speak, opting for hand signals instead. It's believed this is beacuse their gills make them make sound strange but no one's heard them to confirm. Because their mermaid transformation only fully happens when theyr'e neck deep in water it's rare to see, and after they took on this new form they started staying away from bodies of water. During rain any part of their body that gets rained on will begin to turn purple and scaled, so they stay indoors during bad weather. Sometimes when fishing Mira will fall into the water and quickly rush back out, and has been known to half-transform in large puddles. It's pretty clear they're embarrassed of this form more than anything.
Mira's rarest and most mysterious form, only appearing after they obtained the Empress of Light's wings. It seems like they're almost possessed by the Empress, with their face going blank but powers becoming scarily strong. Mira never speaks or even makes noise in this form, instead zipping through the skies at incredible speeds and attacking almost everything in sight. It's tricky to spot this form as Mira will dip in and out of it extremely fast, and seems to only transform when they're in immediate danger.
