history
Life was great, born to a rich family up in the city with parents who spoiled him, sure all the attention wasn't all on him since he had siblings, but still, everything was wonderful. Navy was the eldest among the four, in fact, he was possibly the favorite, given he always had high grades, had good manners, was obedient, and quite possibly had everything a parent could wish for in a child.
His parents praised him for everything he achieved, bragging about him to realtives and friends and Navy loved every second of it, every time he managed to get a reward or a high achievement, he'd tell his parent who practically showered him in praise, though what happens if he does something wrong?
Third grade, Navy was 8. He almost failed one of his classes, but things still didn't seem all too bad. His parents just made him study a little harder, so he wouldn't make the same mistake, and it worked. Family gathering, he messed up and spilled juice on the table, scold him for it, he can do better than this.
It wasn't noticeable to anyone not paying attention but his parents were strict, mistakes weren't allowed, accidents weren't an excuse, if Navy were to perform even a little lesser than he normally does, even for a split second, he wasn't doing good. Eventually, Navy grew paranoid of it, if he wasn't the best, he can never be good enough.
Things just started getting worse from then on. mere weeks after Royal turned 5, their mother died and their father remarried and this new woman wasn't as kind. She would make the siblings do tasks for her, especially Navy when their father was away, it was clear she didn't like them, criticizing everything they did and every choice they make. It was a drastic change from their mother, sure, but that wasn't all.
Their father was much more busy nowadays, barely having time for the siblings, leaving their stepmother to take care of them instead (which, really wasn't the best thing in the world...) And to add insult to injury, She herself had a son of her own, though he wasn't all that bad, in fact, for a while Navy managed to befriend Onyx, though of course, not all good things last
Navy had just turned 13, but instead of a "happy birthday" he was instead greeted with his father's death. Rushed to the hospital after a car accident but it was too late. Eventually he and his siblings ended up living with their grandfather since their stepmother didn't want to take care of them.
Navy was forced to take care of his siblings by himself, being the only one that could be there for them since both their parents were gone, he didn't want his grandfather to worry about them too much, besides, Navy was 13, he was old enough to know what to do, right?
Who knew going from being constantly loved and praised to getting completely neglected in a span of a few years would take such a toll on your health? Navy needed an escape, he felt like he was getting worse every passing day, that was until he met up with an old friend from years ago, asking to join a casual/competitive team with her and two other friends, the problem is... he's never played.
Though that really wasn't much of a problem, Dazzle and her friends had no problem showing Navy the ropes and he learned quite quickly, it wasn't long til Navy got to their level. He spent a lot of his free time studying strategies and tactics, finding comfort in competitive play, it was new, it was exciting and he loved it.
Eventually, their team rose to fame, thanks to both Harley's already espablished status in the cometitive scene amd Navy's newly descovered scene, in fact, they even managed to surpass Harley's main team, Goldentail. The thrill and fame that came with this team got Navy just what he needed, it it was everything he's ever wanted for so long, but, like all good things, this had to end.
Right at the height of their popularity, right when everything was perfect, yet another tragedy had to ruin everything. While Harley and Dazzle were out working for grizzco, one of them got into a fatal accident. Harley got attacked by, presumably one of the salmonids, eaten alive when no one was close enough to help, it left Dazzle traumatized, having experienced it in person, Navy hadn't heard from her for god knows how long, but it didn't stop there, Atlanta had to leave for the Bankara Region, leaving Navy alone once again.
Now without any of his friends to be there with him, Navy felt more alone than he possibly could, He hated the thought of losing another loved one, to the point where he only ever kept to himself. He grew cold and distant, even to his siblings, though he still cared about them.
The fear of growing close to someone only to inevitably lose them plagued his mind, he shunned anyone he felt was getting too close, developing that icy, innaproachable persona, soon he found comfort in being alone, if he kept to himself, he didn't have to worry about losing anything.
A year or so later, there were new teams taking the spotlight in the competitive scene, especially now that both Goldentail and Cold Blooded were out of the picture, Navy stood by and watched, he was at an all time low at the time, all he could do was watch from the sidelines, seeing others have fun with their teams, it was personally demoralizing. what now?
Admittedly, he didn't pay that much attention to his siblings during the time with Cold Blooded, so it was a surprise to him when he learned two of his siblings has had their own personal duo playing in the sidelines, Teal and Turquoise offered to start a team with him, even managing to talk their youngest, Royal, to join as well, hoping that it would help all four of them, and it sure seemed like it did, though it didn't feel as good as it did with his old friends, Navy wasn't doing this just for fun anymore, he had to be on top.
They debuted in a tournament, coincidentally getting put up against the new teams, Crimson Serpents, Goldentail V2, HookLine and Silver Starfish. Somehow, they managed to win against all four teams, little did he know this wasn't the last time he'd see the Serpents
Event after event, tornament after tournament, Team Seaglass came on top, though that streak would be broken sooner or later. A charity tourney, hosted by Toni Kensa. As usual, Navy's team was doing well, though Navy personally? Not so much, out of all the other times he could, he had to doubt himself now...
Within the last minute of the game, Riot had cornered him, his teammates were either down or too busy to help, Navy had nowhere to go and was low on ink, what happened next is something he wouldnt possibly forget.
