QUIN

After being buried underneath rubble for thousands of years in an sacred, ancient tomb, Quin has returned with a new goal in mind, pursuing what she believes to be bloody justice against those that have wronged her and her family.

Background.
II

Born during a time when the arachnid species was in the middle of a huge civil war, Quin was taught how to fight early by her parents, especially as her mother was a reputable and esteemed military general. She lived a fairly happy and carefree life, despite the harsh and turbulent conditions of the tribes around her. Her parents gifted her a pet Lykoi named Hadena, and she cherishd it immensely.

When she was about fifteen, her parents unfortunately passed in an skirmish with elytrians. After their passing, Quin emotionally hardened and became even more reserved then she already was, living solitarily in their large mansion, only kept company by herself and Hadena. As tensions in the wars grew worse, and the arachnids disputes with elytrians as well worsened. Quin lost the carefree and easygoing nature she had before.

One day, when Quin let Hadena outside to play and went back inside briefly to fetch some items, she returned to an elytrian carrying off the Lykoi in it's arms. Panicking and acting on instinct, Quin chased behind their route, ducking through trees and leaping over snowy logs. They led her all the way out to the vast tundra, and Quin watched them duck inside waht appeared to be an ancient cave's entrance. Unnerved, but desperate to rescue Hadena, she had raced inside, a decision which would eventually lead to what should've been her death.

The Elytrian had left her pet deep inside the caves, into an ancient tomb of where magical, glittering crystals lined the walls and the ground. and where curving runes were etched into every available surface, and when she had caught up, they dropped Hadena, only to dive past her and back out of the winding and twisting exits. Too tired to follow, and assuming the dilemma to be over, Quin had unsuspectedly walked straight into a trap. The tomb's entrance shook with a loud boom, as the rocks from the walls and ceiling tumbled down. Quin ended up trapped underneath alll the rubble, unable to shove away hundreds of rocks and boulders.

There she remained for thousands of years, watching as her cells had started to fuse with the crystals below her, and eventually becoming as crystallized as those minerals that grew everywhere in her new home. Quin survived by drinking whatever melting ice and water that would slip down through the boulders, and eating the very little scraps of insects and other creatures that would burrow underneath only to find a very hungry arachnid, desperate for food.

  • Spiky headpiece is a part of Quin's arachnid tribe's culture.
  • Has 2 pairs of spider-like arms coming from her back.
  • Usually wearing pretty plain clothing for conveninece.
  • She has muscular arns and semi-visible abs.
  • Is usually wearing white, but sometimes seen wearing blue or grey.

Due to not really needing armor, she's more weapon-focused, most of her limbs are tipped wiht razor sharp metal claws with serrated edges. Her usual plain clothes are also for convenience, as her thinner tank top-like shirt enables great mobility, and it's much easier to cut holes into the back for her additional arms. She would like to wear other types of clothing that are more fancy and fashionable, but finds it too much of a hassle for it to be a usual thing.

She made her spiked headband similar to her dad's old armband, and it helps to remember her parents when she starts missing them. It can be taken off but Quin would rather have it on her at all times, and she WILL go after anyone who takes it.

Powers.

Cryokinesis / Condensation

Quin may not be able to truly manipulate ice or water, but when water comes into contact with her, she's capable of almost instaneously freezing it in a large radius around herself.

Webs

Quin, like most arachnids, is able to shoot webs that are capable of entangling or immobilizing others, and if given time, can spin rather large traps for more coverage and thread strength.

Crystalline Physiology

Quin is visibly made of special crystalline substances, but this has several benefits. It's much more difficult to cut or shred her, and she's able to heal simply by placing a rock or some other crystal materials in the spot of wounds to mend over. This is advanced enough to replace entire limbs.

While originally a very carefree child, events in her life and years of being trapped in the same infernal place has dealt a heavy blow to her previous laid-back attitude. Quin has developed a near obssessive desire for vengance, upholding a deep-rooted grudge against the elytrians.

She would not necessarily search out members of the elytrian species to make them pay, but if she comes across one, she has no issues with spilling their blood over her crystallized arms. As of right now, MERC'Ds deal with Secrecy which firmly situates them against the elytrians has given her a great opportunity to fulfill her need for vengeance.

Quin appears very intimidating at first, whether this is due to her large stature or dismissive and distant attitude or not, it's a useful effect on other people to have as she wishes to keep social interactions ot a minimum. If she needs to commune with other people, she will, but usually avoids social contact if given a choice.

Quin hates being restricted, whether physically or figuratively. She tries to follow rules and regulations if she believes they are fair, but if she disagrees with one then she wouldn't have much of a problem with disregarding it. She's very fidgety and can't stand or sit still for very long, preferring to always be doing something or other. She has a habit of playing with her hands or throwing rocks in the air, and flipping coins when she has to be stationary for a long period of time.

She has a difficult time trusting others, and keeps a safe distance emotionally from the vast majority of individuals. This is fairly easy for her as she doesn't interact or stay around other people much, preventing attachments from being formed. Judgement-wise, she believes in fairness and treating others like how they treat her. While she does pursue her own vengeance, which she believes is a justice, she will usually put that aside to help those who she's close with first, often working for their goals intstead of her own.

Solis (Close Ally / Friend / Teammate)

Quin is only capable of somewhat trusting Solis, due to his admittedly cryptic and misleading nature, but does so enough to follow them into potentially fatal situations, as Solis has never failed her before. She does respect Solis quite a bit though, more then many other indiivduals. Their notoriously witty reputation definitely precedes them.

Laksh (Teammate / Mutual Ally)

Quin does not feel any particular way towards Laksh, he's been a recent addition to the team, and while he's proven himself both competent and steadfast, Quin cannot be sure that he's completely trustworthy. Solis seems to get along well enough with him through, so Quin tolerates his continual presence and brash nature. She respects him and his abilities on a bare-minimal level, but nothing more.

Vayzen (Pet)

Having found them durimg her journey with Sol, Quin was drawn to this little guy immediately and practically adopted them. It resembles the same pet that her parents gave her, the one she originally chased into the cave. Quin is deathly protective of it, and will hunt down anyone and anything that takes them from her.

  • Quin is weak to heat + fire, and will start to melt if exposed without reprieve for too long.
  • Due to being trapped for so long, Quin now takes every chance to workout and be active.
  • She generally likes being in the shadows, bright sunlight is unsettling.
  • She would like to live somewhere that resembles the place she lived with her parents.
  • She has small ranges to practice her fighting and shooting skills (In a forest and one of Solis's underground bases.)
  • She generally likes any shade of blue or gray.
  • Mainly a meat eater, and has eaten other Arachnids before.
  • Quin is claustrophobic, for obvious reasons.
