Sword:
Luke was trained in sword fighting from a very young age, and is highly proficient in it.

Black Magic:
Being a host, Luke is able to use black magic, though he uses it in only the more dire scenarios, as being outed as a host will more than likely have him killed. Though his magic his magic used to be weak and formless, as he grows older and more experienced his abilities grow and have started to take a more notable shape. He uses what looks like thick thorny black vines to restrain his enemies rather than attack. The vines are currently the only magic he fully knows the capabilities of and is comfortable with in any way.

Bad Puns:
Luke is excellent at making bad puns. Nobody else enjoys them but him. He needs to be stopped.

Personality:

Luke is an easy to please kind of guy, and tries not to take anything for granted. While he used to be rather haughty and arrogant, he's since mellowed out and tries to be more laid back and go with the flow. After traveling with Kerian for two years the constant verbal abuse has made him quieter and more anxious, constantly wary of angering Kerian even more than usual.

Despite everything he tries to do the right thing, even when it's hard. Sometimes he takes it too far though and ends up really hurting himself in the process, and then neglecting to do anything about his own problems in favor of other people's. He's not always the smartest but he means well. A lot of his selflessness stems from survivors guilt over being the surviving Vause child and the fact Kerian also wishes it'd been him who died.

He's not overly fond of authority figures however, and has a nasty habit of doing everything he's told not to. This gets him into a lot of trouble at home, and in the outside world, too.

History/Bio:

The Vause family is infamous for their involvement with black magic and the occult. For several generations they've been matchmaking to create a child who would have strong enough innate magic to host a demon within their own body, and they've finally succeeded. Better yet: twins. Unfortunately, they weren't identical and one was unfortunate enough to be born a girl... and their mother had barely survived childbirth, and would be unable to have more sons. They focused all their efforts and resources of their son, Luke, while their daughter, Lillian, fell to the wayside. 

As the two siblings grew up they remained close despite the differences in their lifestyle. They spent very little time with their parents, and were raised primarily by a live-in tutor and their uncle Ulrich. When they were around 8, the twins met Kerian who was tasked with being their guard. The three of them quickly grew close as friends, regardless of their differences in status.

Tragedy struck only a few years later, as the twins were being taken to meet the rest of the cult and their carriage went over the edge of a steep ravine. Luke was killed, and Lillian was left severely injured. But what could the Vause family do now...? They couldn't proceed without a male heir, and without they'd have to relinquish their spot and everything they'd worked so hard for. Having more children wasn't an option either... if only it'd been Lillian who'd died instead... But maybe it still could be? None of the extended family had met the twins yet- nor had the rest of the cult. Nobody would notice should Luke look a little different... And so they set their plan into action. They removed any servants or workers who knew both twins, cut Lillian's hair and told her that from that day forward, she was Luke, and she was NOT to tell anyone the truth.

As the years went on, the new Luke had PLENTY to catch up on... Their relationship with Kerian became nonexistent, and they devoted themselves entirely to their studies. They behaved and played their cards right, and once they were 18 they were granted permission to make a small journey under the condition he take Kerian with him. Luke never acted out or been disobedient, so they saw no reason not to....

As soon as Luke was on the road, he did his best to go separate ways with Kerian but couldn't shake the werewolf off for some reason.. He has no intention of going back to his family, and has been largely on the run doing his own thing for almost 3 years now. In recent times he's joined up with Sera, a kind but stern woman who's lost her caravan, and Rick, a nagatha thief with a heart of gold. He's come to love these two dearly, and would risk his life for either of them any day.

- Despite Kerian being a complete ass to him, he still hopes he'll come around eventually.
- He's deeply ashamed of being a Host, and won't use his magic unless in a dire situation, and otherwise will do everything he can to keep people from finding out.
- After the accident 10 years ago that killed Lillian, he wasn't allowed to leave the estate until he turned 18.
- Despite Kerian's cruel treatment Luke still hopes that his childhood friend still feels something other than hatred towards him.
