Marnie

Marnie has an African father and an American mother, making her of African-American descent. She was an only child who had always loved spending time on the beach, collecting shells and having a swim.
She was actually out swimming peacefully when a storm came on suddenly, she tried to swim back to shore but as she got closer to the shore, a big wave came over, dragging her under and pulling her away. Unforunetly the storm was quiet violent and although she fought her hardest, she was unable to make it out alive, but her body was washed ashore..

When Marnie awoke, dzazed and confused, she felt the cold sea water running over her leg. That leg, was still in the ocean and had now turned to a liquid form. When Marnie saw it, she jumped back. She may have lost her memory but she knew that wasn't right. It took her a while to soak it in but eventually she scrambled to her feet and decided to look for clues. She didn't find much, just some shells, a bit of netting and some seaweed which she used to accessorize her outfit. She decided to go for a swim, soon realizing that she no longer needed to hold her breath which allowed her to explore hidden depths. As she was exploring, she got the feeling she wasn't alone and turned around just in time to see a creature dart behind a rock. That creature turned out to be a baby dumbo octopus who was curious but also alone and wary. She was able to befriend him by talking to him and reassuring him that she was a friend and she proved that by protecting him from a predator after that the 2 were inseperable and he favoured staying in her 'hair'.

Together they went looking for their family. They never found them but they did end up meeting another marighoul. A young friendly marighoul named Maizy. Marnie decided this girl was too young to be alone, and decided she was going to look out for her. Soon befriending her and taking on a big sister role. She'd always wanted a sister.
