Angela Rose

In the kingdom of Videagua, the role of the monarchy is considered vital. Despite the diminishing influence of monarchies over the 20th century, Videagua managed to maintain its status as one (albeit bound by a constitution) due to a delegation of powers shared between the king & queen. While each monarch has their own respective roles, the queen is seen as being major due to a common association between the position and how prior Queens typically have had a major part in diplomacy, even being seen as a chief diplomat. This is perhaps best seen with the current queen, Angela Rose. 

Angela Rose was the daughter of the prior king & queen, raised during a time of tumultuous change upon the surface which casted a shadow upon the kingdom. Her parents had taken great strides to meet in secrecy with representatives of major land nations not far from Videagua in order to secure its independence and secrecy (with the help of various government agencies). Angela was taught this knowledge at a young age and thus she strived to be the best she could be in such. She honed her abilities debate and diplomacy, while being taught about the various cultures & etiquette of the surface. It was through all of this that Angela, after becoming Queen, was able to broker some peace agreements between multiple mer kingdoms while also negotiating a treaty between the kingdom of Videagua and an unknown agency from the surface, suspected to be a UN group. 

But this is not the only impressive aspect which makes the roll of a queen of Videagua, especially in Angela’s case. The monarchy is also considered to house the highest mages of the kingdom. While it can potentially be either the king or queen (or even both in rare cases), Angela has been seen as perhaps one of the greatest mages of the kingdom’s history. Her abilities seem numerous & vast, from being able to conjure up storms to help deter offenses by kingdoms that continue to oppose the goals set by her & the King (even rumored to have inadvertently contribute to strengthening hurricanes, which she denies), to being adept at healing & transformation magic. It’s not entirely clear how Angra was able to become such a master of magic. Some speculate it’s due to her family lineage, the staff she carries around, or even a gift from a goddess or higher being the majority of kingdom worships.

Nevertheless, Angela maintains an air of peace through diplomacy, ensuring her kingdom’s people come first. And if one prefers to go on a war path with Videagua, they will find her and her husband making a stand against them.
