Luce grew up in a small mage village where he learnt the basics from the community. The wizards and mages came and went frequently, but this meant there was always someone new to learn from or teach. Luce stayed for several years until he was a young teenager, if his parents were travelling he stayed with another wizard until they returned. The wizard he learnt from most frequently was an Elven wizard called Ysgol.
He was wildly unprepared for life outside his community and was always in some sort of trouble which he only escaped because of his magic.
Luce has rune scars covering most of his back, and other parts of his body. He was captured by orcs, who mistakenly thought that carving runes and spells into a wizard would let them use his magic. When this failed they threw him into the dungeon and forgot about him. Coedyrescued him after 7 days, he had started to give up and was only kept alive by a trickle of water running through the dungeon. For Luce's magic to work he needs a magical item, such as a wand or staff.
He teamed up with Coedy and they formed a very close friendship and ultimately a relationship.

Luce is quiet, shy and reserved, he doesn't like to speak up or make a fuss and this is just exaggerated after his capture. However, he is able to go full bad-ass mode when using his magic. 

Despite his gentle nature, he is also interested in dark magic and wants to learn all the spells one day.  

Accepted Magic -
Fire: Fireball, flamethrower.
Water: Drinking water.
Wind: Wind blast.
Flora: Grow flowers, fix trees, friend flora (feel trees emotions).
Sound: Deafen, throw voices, distort.
Light: Blind, hallucinate.
Companion: Summon animal companions (animals are not alive, but pure magic).

Banned/Dark Magic -
Deconstruction - Can deconstruct a living thing - separate them into parts, remove skin from muscle, muscle from bones and even separate veins, intestines and fat from everything else.
Inanimate - Turn someone into an in inanimate object. This is banned due to the fact it's so hard to turn people back. The only way to tell if an object was someone is the weird body temperate of the object. The person is conscious the whole time and can feel pain/hot/cold. 

Items - 
Magic wand - A simple magic wand, often tucked into his bracer.
Magic hilt - Any type of blade can appear on this hilt, so long as the wielder knows the magic for it. In the hands of someone who does not know magic, it'd be useless. Luce knows fire blade, ice blade, light blade (essentially a lightsabre), wooden blade (for training), shockwave blade (the impact can be felt even if the blade doesn't actually make contact) and poison blade.
