About

From a young age, Thorkan had always felt excluded due to a life-altering incident that left him with a crooked jaw and prominent scars. His appearance was different from the rest of his family, and his pack mates and siblings often left him out of activities or made fun of his disfigurement. His parents, who seemed kind when they were alone with him, turned a blind eye to his mistreatment when others were around. Thorkan couldn't help but feel that they were acting two-faced, which further added to his isolation. At the age of one, Thorkan decided he had endured enough. He ventured off on his own, seeking solace away from the constant reminders of his differences. Out in the wilderness, he learned to fend for himself, developing resilience and self-reliance that his family never bothered to teach him.

One day, as Thorkan roamed, he stumbled upon the scent of another wolf. Curiosity piqued his interest, as it had been a long time since he had interacted with any wolf. He cautiously followed the scent trail, leading him to a gray-pelted wolf with scars of his own, reminiscent of Thorkan's own journey. The wolf, named Sethos, heard Thorkan step on a branch and called out to him, urging him not to be afraid. Intrigued and hopeful, Thorkan slowly emerged from his hiding spot. Sethos reassured him, sharing that he understood the pain of feeling different and being rejected by one's own pack. In Sethos, Thorkan found a kindred spirit who had faced similar struggles. Thorkan poured out his heart, explaining the cruel treatment he had endured within his family. Sethos listened attentively, empathizing with every word. He revealed that he, too, had been a runt and was eventually cast out for not being the most skilled wolf. The scars etched across Sethos's body were a testament to his own battles. Thorkan felt a profound sense of relief and connection. For the first time, he no longer felt alone in his suffering. Sethos's presence reminded him that scars, physical or emotional, were not a measure of one's worth. They were reminders of the strength and resilience it took to endure and survive.

As they continued to share their stories, Sethos mentioned his apprentice, Junpei, who was on a quest to find his biological parents. Sethos admitted his concerns but respected Junpei's need for personal growth through the journey. He expressed his desire for companionship, as he was not ready to be a lone wolf again just yet. Thorkan, yearning for understanding and a sense of belonging, accepted Sethos's request to become his new apprentice. Sethos willingly took on the role of mentor, teaching Thorkan the skills and wisdom he had imparted to Junpei. Thorkan, with his crooked jaw and scars, embraced the opportunity to grow under Sethos's guidance, learning to navigate the world with confidence. Time passed, and Junpei eventually returned from his quest. Thorkan, having found solace and acceptance in the company of Sethos and Junpei, made the heartfelt decision to stay. The scars that adorned their bodies were symbols of their shared struggles and the unbreakable bond they had formed. Together, they created a new pack, bound not by blood but by the understanding and support they offered one another. Thorkan realized that true family extended beyond superficial appearances and biological ties.
