Backstory

Shk'livithuul's creation was an accident, the unexpected product of two other eldritch gods that waged a savage war against each other. The remnants of potent magical energies left behind from these enormous and universe wide conflicts, mixed in with the surrounding cosmic dust and nearby dying stars. Immediately causing the latter of which to go supernova, as the magic caused adverse effects to the gravity in the area and reality to warp. The cosmic debris collecting together amidst the massive explosions, and glowing a blinding magenta as it began slowly forming into a shape. This was how Shk'livithuul came to be, absorbing in the final slivers of energy and forming herself into a shape she desired.

Once her blazing eyes snapped open as the transformation was complete, she became aware and discovered quite quickly she wielded extraordinary power. With every breath she breathed out, stardust trickled outward from her jaws. She experimented around with her surroundings post birth, altering the trajectory of comets, the orbit of planets and even going further to create a world from magical power alone.

Looking down at the floating ball of rock and ice, she breathed down upon the planet and so kickstarting the development of life. Watching curiously as the cloud of gas and dust enveloping it, slowly formed an atmosphere. She felt something of pride in her work, and then moved on, slithering through the cosmos to explore. Looking down, on the habituated galaxies and all the beings that lived among them. Discovering the maddening chaos that still gripped them, and the more she witnessed, the more she felt uncomfortable. Something was wrong here, and she felt the presence and influences of something similarly powerful as she.

In fact her creation didn't go unnoticed and both eldritch beings, were now aware of what their conflict had accidentally spawned. Not content with another being that might take one side or the other, one of the two was now hunting for her. A demonic elder god who's very presence drove mortals insane, boasting great power in sorcery and psychic ability. They relished in gaining full control over this reality, and to them she was just another irritating obstacle.

The being soon found her and ambushed her as she retreated cautiously through an asteroid belt, tampering with her perception to get in close. Casting a malicious spell to stun her, before crashing into her from behind and ripping into her flesh with razor tipped tentacles that they conjured. Holding her still and prepared to erase her existence, starting with her mind first. When Shk'livithuul used what strength they could, causing a giant star to collapse and resulting in a gamma ray burst which immediately blinded the demon. Taking her chance as the other released her out of pain, grabbing and wrapping herself around her attacker. Clawing at them wild and vicious, letting loose a great plume of violet flame over their body. Watching them writhe for a moment, before she suddenly lunged forward and clamped her jaws over the weakened entities head. Slowly she swallowed the entity, slipping her jaws further and further down their body as they disappeared down her gullet. Once inside her stomach chamber, she felt a new energy surge through her, as she sapped away on the remaining energy.

Suddenly the abilities of the creature she swallowed whole, were absorbed into her being, and her eyes became aglow with renewed energy. Around her and for many million miles across. She found herself suddenly able, to hear the thoughts and probe into the minds of all lifeforms inhabiting the worlds and moons all around her..

Looking around at each world one after the other, at first scanning the inhabitants minds out of curiosity. She simmered still with anger and still infuriated by the random attack upon her. What she desired to know now, was what this attacker of hers was and anything more she could learn about them. Sifting through the enormous mass of mundane everyday chatter that filled her head for the answers. Eventually tuning in on a conservation that caught her attention, it sounded very much unlike others and dark in nature. They spoke in dry and in unnatural rasps, grumbling lowly in an ancient tongue that she understood thanks to what she absorbed. Listening in to what sounded like a ritual of initiation, as a multitude of voices welcomed in a new member to their cult. Inviting them to surrender their mind to the being who knows all truths of man, the keeper of lost and forgotten secrets and rival to that of the old one of arcane arts. To pray for their victory in the great cosmic war to come, to rule over this realm and to accept them as their humble servants.

In response her blazing eyes narrowed as she listened, and the voices abruptly paused as if they could feel her contempt at that moment. First she was angered to figure out that this is why she was attacked. Because she was seen as an inconvenience, a threat to each of these old ones desire to dominate this universe. Secondly she was even more displeased to learn there were more than one, and could very well threaten her now. Especially now that one already had fallen, and lay dead within , drained of the last of their energy.

Slowly she shifted away and into further space, following the strange and malevolent energy trail she'd picked up on now, in search for this demon's lair. Determined now to take it over or destroy it if she so decided. To take what else remained of them, and send a clear message of defiance to whoever else would attempt to destroy her.

Going forth she discovered that the trail led to a spot in deep space. The area around her radiated another strange energy. This was where a portal was last opened, and one this abomination had passed through to pursue her.

Using the abilities she'd leeched off it's creator, she with a claw, slowly in a circular motion tore a hole through the fabric of dimensions. The rift she'd opened, shimmered with a silvery light and flickered like a mirage, offering only a blurred glimpse of what lay beyond. Bracing herself for a moment and slipping inside, the tear closing up behind her. What awaited her was a truly mind bending sight, great silver towers that twisted at impossible angles, with pyramid and trapezoid structures surrounding it, all with a reflective surface. This realm was like a gigantic maze, with all the paths that snaked through it being uncertain to lead you to where you wished. It was impossible to understand where you were going.

But Shk'livithuul was not affected by the psychological effects, and maddening nature of a place so impossible. Immediately setting out on a rampage, smashing through both construct and foe alike. The servants of the now dead elder god, hopelessly unable to halt her violent advance and were quickly gulped down, absorbed one after the other. Her trail of destruction, taking her right up to the very doors of the throne room in which the last few remained. Who attempted a desperate defence, but it was no good. Shk'livithuul had absorbed far too much power and easily overpowered them.

At last having totally wiped this realm clean of all entities, she then took the throne for herself and lazed around upon it pondering her next moves. What she desired was to rule this realm as her own, and dominate this universe as a greater celestial being. She had no desires to spread chaos, madness and mayhem in this bleak space. But to bring order, protection and balance all over, to be respected not out of fear but in silent gratitude for the gifts, she'd bestow to those who ask. Though a much greater foe stood in her way, and in destroying their rival. She had started the great battle that was prophesied all by herself, and she knew plans were being drawn against her.
