CATALYST lore: A scientist that volunteered to join in a research project around an ore made up of the same minerals that flow through some of the minor deities' and mystical creatures' bloodstreams. The experiments were meant to merely test out some of the properties of the ore, as well as check for any side effects on living beings. However, the higher ups running this project had other plans and secretly tested the ore on the scientists that volunteered, using them as the test subjects; many of them developed certain powers and abilities as well as physical characteristics that reflected those seen from the divine beings. Diorum was one of the scientists who got the least exposure, so he only ended up with a few traits compared to those who had been exposed to so much radioactivity that they looked like a smaller version of a divine being. His right eye is permanently discolored with the colors of the energy coursing through him.
Diorum's current abilities include:
- (Self) molecule rearrangement: He can essentially become "invisible" to the naked eye and move through space through reforming and pulling himself apart; this ability only applies to him (he cannot rearrange other objects)
- Energy usage: The strange energy that pulsates from the ore is now stored in him, and he has the ability to hit others up to a 15 foot distance away with a controlled shock (the energy manifests as vivid yellow and cyan arcs of "electricity")
- Electrical tampering: Through direct contact to a machine, he can manipulate the current of electricity within it and cause fuse breaks or other problems
When he uses his powers his pupils glow cyan and the energy crackles around him. He typically hides his physical features matching those of a divine being from view but it takes some energy and focus to do so, leading to them becoming visible after exertion.
The original test site used has long since been ransacked by the more powerful scientists/test subjects, but Diorum continues to search for clues as to who the higher ups in charge of the experiments are and what their actual plans may be. He has run into the scientist/failed pilot that works with 1407 and formed an "alliance" with them, but whether or not he intends to actually maintain the alliance is unknown.
