As he is queit he is also knowledgeable. Having a library worth of magical books. Many of which where found during the moments when his hero has called for him. They are a token or remind - as his hero likes to say, that he can't find gems, all he needs to do is step out of his comfort zone.
While that might be true the lad is also very weary of the world. Finding it to be a bit more harsh then he would like. If he is to admit to something it is that in most cases he he a coward. Only when his hero is in danger does his true colors show and he steps up to protecting the other.
Yet if it were up to him, he would open a school and teach those in the region what the wonders of magic can truly do.
